I shouldn't do this. I'm not a big basketball fan, and I'm the worst kind of laker fan... I watch the playoffs, but otherwise don't even tune the game in (although to be fair, I did watch more of the season when I lived in the LA area.) Anyhow, statisticaly speaking, Kobe is playing the most well rounded ball of any player out there.

Methodology.
I took today's NBA.com rankings for the three most commonly analyzed stats; Points per game, Rebounds per game, and Assists per game. I listed all of the players who were in the top ten of ANY of these stats, and assigned them a number according to their rank. For example,  Tracy McGrady is #1 in PPG, so he was given a "1" in the PPG collum. I then found their ranks for each of the other catagories, repeating the number assignment.  

Herein lies the one flaw I know of, albeit a small one. The ranks only go up to 50, so players who are not in the top 50 are not ranked. So, continuing with our example of Tracy McGrady, he does not rank in "Rebounds per game" So I assinged him a rank of 51. All players who fail to rank in the to 50 of any given stat, were assinged a "51"  So in that case, I would consider throwing out all players who fail to achieve a ranking in the top 50 of EACH catagory.

So the results.

Kobe has an average rank of 8.33 (3 PPG, 11 RPG, 11 APG)
 This is far and away better than anyone else in the league. The closest competitor is:
Kevin Garnet 15.33 (27/1/18)
Steve Francis 16 (2/29/17)
Jason Kidd 21.67 (24/38/3)

Everyone else fell off thanks to the 51 rule, but regardless, these four players were the top 4.


In conclusion.

Kobe is much more than "nothing"

I'd be curious as to how many teams would turn down the opportunity to have Colby Briant playing for them.  He is simply outstanding.

Of course, there aren't many that would turn down the opportunity to have Shack playing for them either.

As a Blazer fan... it just irritates me to see both of them on a team in our division.

Good point, his FG% of .422 is nothing to brag about, and by including that catagory, Kobe would be in the 51* group.
