What does it mean when...
« on: November 14, 2002, 01:06:00 PM »
...you dream that a pretty young thing walks up and sits in your lap with her arms around your neck but then the dream shifts to a bunk on board a ship where someone is screaming "Da Kraken!  Da Kraken!" and this green face with dark staring eyes all wrapped in sea-weed appears on the wall near the bunks and someone starts screaming "Da face! Da face!" ?

You'll have to elaborate alittle further. What type of emotional shift did you go from/to?  Sexual to fear?

Means you need to lay off the crack before you go to bed.

I ate to much Taco Bell once and had a dream just as disturbing.

I dreamt I was in the ALIEN 2 movie , the aliens were are all around outside our room. Sitting at the table with me was Herman Munster crying his eyes out begging me to take him home.

Oh how tempting to put in a snappy response :D

Seriously, if the dream doesn't repeat itself in some sort of similiar scenario (thats too many S's in one sentence!), then write it off to a fluke dream, possibly affected by something you did recently like fly near the Kracken in AH earlier in the evening ;)  However, if it re-occurs, then I'll have to dig my dream analysis books out and give you a "theory" as to why you might have the "re-occuring scenario" dream.  I say theory because it is indeed a study in behavior, same as pyschology, but at a subliminal level (Maybe I should ask Miss Cleo for a refund if my analysis is wrong? ;) )

That made my day.  thanks...

I usually have dreams that I'm flying (usually taking off) but there are telephone wires and power lines right at the end of the runway and typically I don't clear them and end up crashing.  I usually can wake myself up just before impact.  Every once in a while, I clear them and then have a good flight :D

Flying dreams are an indicator that things are well in your life.  Flying dreams involving disaster, or "just about got airborn" as in your case, usually can be traced to something that you've been meaning to do that will better you in your life, but have delayed in doing so.  Do you want to go to school to pursue a career in something you've always wanted to do, but haven't done so yet? Or something similiar?

Acutally yes...

It was my DREAM to fly either in the Navy or AF since I was about 7 years old.  About my junior year in high school, my eyes started to change (go figger) and I no longer had 20/20 uncorrected vision.  I was going to go thru the ROTC program and the navy recuiter said,

"You can't fly the plane without 20/20 uncorrected, but we could get you into some other aircraft related thing (maint, ground crew etc).  "

My reply, "If I can't drive, I'm out"

I was crushed.  It still bothers me to this day when I go to airshows and see these AF/Navy pilots climbing out of their A/C after a flight wearing grins that go ear-to-ear.  If the AF or navy came to me today and said get your eyes corrected and you can fly, I'd sign up right then and there.  The girlfriend would probably slit my throat, but she'd have to catch me first... :D.

The check is in the mail for the couselling session.  Thanks RIP :D

Understanding your own dreams helps you in the long haul. You can break patterns that you dislike by changing your awake-hours life.  Believe it or not, I used to have this re-occuring "falling" dream, very frightful...I started skydiving and the dream went away. :)  Overcoming fear and anxiety makes you a better person.  Maybe flying lessons are soon in your future? ;)
