Why do we have a "King of the Hill General" board anyway?
« on: November 11, 2002, 10:56:52 AM »
Keebler asked last Tuesday when the next KOTH was gonna be. His post is still unanswered. Apparently KOTH ran last Friday. No AAR of course, just some participants posted who won and what the plane of choice is next month. My squaddie bigmax won it. That's cool. I just wish more people had known about it.

I'm sick of so many people missing this event because of BS.

I won't be expecting an AAR.

Thanks Aub.

I knew about it but forgot... might help if there was seprate post for every event in 'announcments' instead of haveing Daddog post once for 3-4 events.  (would be short work for any given CM to post"KOTH tonight SHOW UP YOU TARDS!")

Sorry I missed it. When I saw no responses to that post in the KOTH forum, I made other plans. I figured there was none on Friday, otherwise I wold have been there.

hblair.....take it easy on aub will ya?  Im not sure what happend but im sure there is a reasonable explanation.

Aub is a squaddie of mine and he is a great guy.

Have you spoken to him about this?  Mabye it would be a good idea to speak to him before you rag on him in an open fourm?

Im not tryin to piss ya off, or flame you, just saying that perhaps there is a good reason for these events.  could be something that was out of his control.

  Thx...Duck

Good of you to step up and defend a squaddie duckett, and I think Aub is a good guy too. I've been in his shoes, but I never dropped the ball this many times in a row. I don't think he's typed up ONE AAR, yet he's been in charge of the event for what? 4? 5 months?

The running of KOTH has been awful. It runs ONE night a month. All the host has to do is show up ONE NIGHT A MONTH, run the event for 3-4 hours, type up an AAR, and forget about it for 3.5 weeks. That's not much. I used to be on the CT staff and host WW's.

This is nothing personal against aub, the jobs just not getting done. Maybe this month there was a legitimate reason, I don't know that. But what about the past several?

BTW, hey seeker, remember when you used to crucify the AH CM's for what you thought was gawdawful performance? You used to really hassle them for much less than this. Well, here's the vaunted KOTH event from Air Warrior. And people don't even know when it's gonna run. Yet the "bigweekers" are silent on this? Why? :p

So much for the AH CM "boys club" eh?

All that I know is that AUB had REAL LIFE Issues pop up last week.

Once the CM Group found out about it we picked it up and ran with it the best we could on short notice.

Once we know the full extent of AUB's status I am sure the NEXT KOTH will be promoted more fully.
AW - AH Pilot 199? - 200?

I hope Aub is doing ok. This thread was more out of frustration than Aub bashing.

I'm looking forward to KOTH being promoted like it should be.

"BTW, hey seeker, remember when you used to crucify the AH CM's for what you thought was gawdawful performance?"

Oh well, seeing as you want to drag me into this...

Yes of course I remember.

Do you remember the countless offers I made to run it my self?

Do you know how many times I applied to join the CM staff? Over a period of two years? Usually I didn't even get a response of any kind.

Did you realise that even when I'm asked to be a scenario XO I'm banned from the appropiate message boards? You'll understand why I turned down CO and XO posts subsequently, I trust?

Do you realise why I don't give a flying fig for AH events any more?

AH - great software, shame what they do with it.
