Question
 AH allows some 500-600 online in the same arena
IL2 allows 12 players online at one time, or something close
Kinda like comparing apples to cantelope don't you think?!
 When you develop gearing towards MMOG the constraints are differnet when you develop for a boxed limited MP platform..
 After ready the QA from the IL2 developer he even kinda eluded to that in his answers...

I've been trying IL2 again, with the postings on the upcoming FB. I found it pretty, but also disappointing. Especially the LW issues, I think the lweenies have some points.

Il2 and AH are two very different products. To compare them is retarded. Maybe in 3 years as they start to converge, but for now its chalk and cheese.

You know what I really love about Aces highs damage model. :)

The fact that you can Litterally chainsaw aircraft in half, oh and then theres always the realistic "instant entire blowing up" sequence that exists.

But yes,.. oh yes This is Very realistic .. dont you agree rude? :)

I also Love how losing a "wingtip" (a non critical portion of the airfoil) will cause a plane to suddenly lose any aiblity to fly :)

Oh man, we can go on and on, but Aces High Damage model in the air is about as correct as it is on the ground :)

And Rude... We all know how bad the "Vehicle" damage is. It is a shame that it carries over into flight.


OH.. and By the way, Next time you ever want to check out the damage model... Do something Very very simple... Like say.. Drop a single 500LB bomb on an Aircraft hanger.   :-D  lol  and then tell me .. how "Correct" the damage is lol.

Its hilarious how a Non hardened target will sustain SO much pressure/force/energy/heat/ :)

GOtta love the "realistic" Aces High way of dealing with "physics"

jbroey from your post I take it you've never flown AH in the last 6 months?

I've never seen a plane get is tail sawn of with 7.7mm, unless you expended near to a 1000 rounds into it, let a a Jug getting nailed.

If you saw an aircraft in half it is entirely possible you hit the fuel tanks or got a pilot kill. Having said that I saw halves of planes make it all the way to the deck all the time. Where you get the idea everything blows up I don't know.

I bring aircraft home all the time sans-wingtip (sometimes even sans-both-wingtips). It does depend on the aircraft :) those more stable at high AoA are easier to bring back.

As for the hangar hardness, well, that is a gameplay concession thing. I mean how do you model hangar structural integrity - and a half hit hangar? Come up with a working balanced solution and I'm sure HTC will listen. Mind you, whether or not partial damage is visible on a hangar is probably not high in the priority list right now.
