Don’t mean to rob your thread Major, but got me thinking of our Lan meets and games I play that I never would have, or once I did, tried Singleplayer. Guys have lotsa software to look at. None as a flightsimmer I would have.
MOHAA. I liked it. Like the opening scene you described in the expansion, the Beach scene in the original was intense, and much like Saving Private Ryan, comparative to Band of Brothers. Lost interest on later levels because of some insane death traps. I think they were actual bugs. I didn't like the graphics much, then turned them up. Pretty cool. How’s LAN play on it?
SOF2. Later levels are a riot Single player. Guys rotate trying to get through them and it’s pretty good trying to get through what the other guy can’t. Only tried the demo multiplayer and didn’t like it. If I could lose the cut scenes, or chose other levels because I hate the beggining story, it would be great.
Ghost Recon, with both expansions up to Thunder Island. Huge amounts of fun single and multiplayer, although Rainbow 6 seemed to have better things at times. Of the whole like series, Sum of All Fears was the best. This is great LAN play, all titles.
IL-2. It’s as fun as AH on LAN play. Going 2V2 we play for hours in dogfights. Nothing like being able to taunt the guy next to you, and dodge real items (pens, keyboards insults) thrown at you in response! Good thing they are not good flightsim players, it’s like fighting the AI but they get either twice as stupid, sometimes way better. COOP is a whole nother thing. I could care less about the other 200 “people” we can’t see, and won’t elaborate.
Castle Wolf. I hate multiplay LAN, because maps are too big, but it provides fun anyway. Dipshit campers always hate when I look at their monitor, and throw more even stuff at me.
F1 2001. No Krappy, I haven’t upgraded to 2002, but this has just HUGE potential. (if they make it CART, doh!)
I think Raven Shield will be the next LAN and single player game.
