Reload times measured in minutes, IIRC.

6 81mm mortars can put in a way better fire mission then 6 of those things..much less a battery of 150mm...

It wasnt used for suppression, I think it was used against fortifications.

ya..I know..I was responding to towds point about it being used for barrage.
As to its use in the game. Its only usefull for taking out gun emplacements or ships if they were close..and you could lead well... An ostwind can kill buildings far faster then the sturm tiger and defend itself against planes and half tracks.
The only value of that vehicle even in real war is if you have established local armour supperoriority and want to reduce strong points. Against normal tanks it is helpless. Against well armed infantry it is helpless. Against planes it is helpless.
In this game it would be helpless.

I agree with you that it would be useless in game.

I think we really have something missing from a battlefield if we dont have some kind of artillery though dont you guys?

there is lots of scope for artillery in AH i think.

we could have several tank mounted artillery peices added and then theres a new task needed , ie artillery spotting!

finally we would have a reason to add recon aircraft or perhaps jeeps or kubelwagons! :D

Artillery was a huge part of WW2 and i think it shouldnt be ignored in AH.
The only online game i know of that has artillery is battlefield 1942 and it is great fun to use. However that game just isnt serious enough to hold prolonged attention. If AH had artillery and it required some skill to get good with it could be a great addition i think.

Vaguely I remember in DOA there was a arty element with co-ords coming from the observers in an spotter plane....there might be something in that for AH....perhaps some type of generic arty that can be called down from an observation a/c say a Storch, Fw-189, or Auster I-V.
