What would Christians do if someone said Jesus would probably have married a particular beauty pageant contestant?

Curfew Clamped on Nigeria City, Churches Torched

KADUNA, Nigeria (Reuters) - Authorities clamped a curfew on the northern Nigerian city of Kaduna on Thursday as Muslim militants burned churches in a spreading protest over the staging of the Miss World pageant in Nigeria.

Witnesses said soldiers had been drafted to help police struggling to contain rampaging youths spearheading the riots which killed at least two people on Thursday.


"As I stand in the street I can see a church burning in the Malali-Badarawa area. I have counted no less than 10 churches burned," a resident told Reuters. "I have seen and filmed two dead bodies on the streets."


Kaduna state commissioner for information Isah Abdullahi announced the 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. local time curfew in a special radio broadcast intended to calm the city, where thousands died in sectarian clashes two years ago.


The latest riots flared on Wednesday over a report in the leading 'This Day' newspaper on the Miss World pageant which Muslims say blasphemed the Prophet Mohammad. The story, since retracted by 'This Day', said Mohammad would have probably married one of the beauty queens. What I want to know is, which one?

Every religion has it's nutters. Every religion has been used as an excuse for disgusting acts. The followers of every religion have been persecuted. The followers of every religion would pork most of the women on show given the opportunity.

Anyway, Miss World is a stupid competition. If people want to see naked women, hook up to the internet or buy a porn mag. There's no call for it in this modern age of porn.

Answer: Nothing, because Christians know that Jesus has better things to do than worry about what a newspaper reporter says about his lovelife.

50 dead so far Read one account of a mob pulling some guy out of his car him being stabbed many times then they put a old tire around him filled with gas and lit him up. OUCH now thats gotta hurt!!  Praise be Allah the forgiving.

That would be a death sentence for john they would kill him for sure for what he wrote. Prolly his whole family for that matter. Sure glad I dont live in one of them countrys where you cant speak your mind without being stabbed and burnt to death.

Islam MAY BE a religion of peace...but peaceful Muslims do not speak out loudly enough or long enough against this sort of violence.  

On the other hand, let's give a well deserved raspberry to the idiot who published that statement in a newspaper in a country that is 90% Muslim.  Here's to you fella!   BBBRRRAAAAAPPPP!

well... I step lightly here but... IMO... religion should be a personal thing...  When it becomes "organized" it gives that sect, cult, true believers, whatever, power.   I don't want to see any group that disagrees with my lifestyle gaining too much power.   Whenever you get a lot of like minded people you get mobs.

The NRA is of course different and the only worhwhile organization.

Nigeria is 90% muslim?

CIA factbook says Muslim 50%, Christian 40%, indigenous beliefs 10% .

Should be ok to write stuff.
