Funked: Rallisport Challenge

Gamesrating.com

Awesome game so far. The basic premise is that you get to race diferent american and rice burner cars off-road, in snow, uphill, etc.

You would specially love it cause you get to drive your WRX, and its a sweet choice here. You get to customize stuff like tires, suspension, etc.

The driving physics are realistic, you cant just accelerate all the way to the finish line. Its easy to lose control, specially on snow.

Very nice racing game. And the graphics are sweet.

Yeah, its fun playing "Hog of the Roads" in this game. And the force-feedback controller provides a nice vibratey feeling all thru my guttyworks.

Sweet, I didn't know it was out for PC.  I played this a lot on XBox.  Should be fun on PC.

When I'm not flying AH, my other gaming is a mod for Le Mans race cars (http://www.rsdg.net) for EASports' F1 2001.  I've also done a bit of Papyrus' NASCAR Racing 3 and the newest Papyrus NASCAR Racing sim.  I'll have to give RallyeSport Challenge a whirl.  I was afraid it'd be too arcadish, but it sounds like it might be worth a try.

If you want a good rally sim check out Rally Trophy.  It's the most realistic rally game I've seen, more so than Rallisport (at least the XBox version of Rallisport).

I don't know if any of you build models, but right now http://www.modelexpo-online.com/ema004/ is having a 99 cent sale on its Heller 1:43 scale F1 race cars: Williams, Lotus, and Benneton.

Does rallisport have a cockpit view yet?  (it didn't on XBox)

It was ok on XBox but I won't bother with any driving sim with no 'in car' view...

Skurj - no cockpit view. Thats a real bummer.

And the more I play the more quirks I find in the physics engine, wich has left me disapointed. The first hours its fun but after a while the gameplay is growing tedious.

I tried the demo and was left VERY unimpressed and glad I fought the urge to buy it in the shop when I saw it before playing the demo. I did'nt think the physics were that impressive or the graphics for that matter, considering the age difference no better than Colin Mcrae Rally 2. I'll keep playing CMR2 while I wait for CMR3 early next year.

Revvin, try Rally Trophy.  Blows away CMR2.

I can't fairly compare any driving sims because Rally Trophy is the only non aviation boxed sim or game that I have ever bought for myself.  Less than 2 hours after downloading the free trial version, I ordered one.  The reviews said it was great, but what really sold me was the classic cars that you could choose from; Mini Cooper, SAAB-96, Volvo Amazon, etc.

It's pretty fun, for a boxed game.  I found myself, however, trying to see how far and high I could jump the cars... trying to fly...
