Lets get 2 things straight....

Goon is short for Gooney bird the nickname of the C-47.

Drunk is the nickname for a paratrooper/troop which rides in a C-47.

No, you don't have goons inbound you have a goon inbound that which contains troops. Unless ofcourse you are not the only C-47 that is inbound.

So, to summarize, a goon is not a troop.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled BBS flamewars.

..and 'Drunks' is slang for 'Rangers'.

Ya know the, 'Fighting soldiers from the sky' type of people.

...and CAP means Combat Air Patrol, not short for CAPture.

A TOWN is the group of buildings a short distance away from a field where you drop drunks off to capture the field.

A CITY is the group of buildings, usually in the middle of nowhere, that if bombed affect the resupply of the factories.

well MT , maybe some people  don't know a C47 was called a"goony bird" etc etc, but they would like to know them things so no body thinks they are stupid and from kalifornia.

many times a new person asks "what the heck is a JABO?"

do we have a list of terms used in AH? if not, we need one.

but as far as terms go......
there WAS an awsome post with a link to the terms used in AH....

i just spent 45min searching the BBS and couldnt find it ARRRRGGHH :mad:

oh well the throbbing brain that is the BBS community will find it somewhere LOL
