I agree Kanth, Viff should refrain from personal attacks, in his defence, he just said what everyone else was thinking.

Cheating is cause for permanent banning and rightly so. Left unchecked it will destroy a game. Manipulating the game as DmdBT claimed that he did is cheating. Causing others to believe that he is cheating even if only a troll can have the same damaging effect. He got off very lucky imo.

Thanks alot for responding on this matter HT. I agree with Iron that he got off lucky. The stupidity of the post is obvious. All the various gameplay issues raised on these boards are one thing but when someone comes on and says they cheat, that is a different matter. HT, well done.

Its pretty easy to SAY something stupid, espescially as a joke.
What DmdBT wrote clearly went too far and even wasted some of HiTech's precious time, but I think it in no way compares to actually cheating.  I think a 1 month ban is reasonable, and should be considered a minimal punishment/deterant for such behavior.  It also sounds like he took it like a man.

I would like to say, however, that DmdBT's post was not the most stupid or destructive thing that I have ever read on this BB, not even a contender for the top-10.

I don't plan on holding any kind of a grudge against him when he returns (Although a bit of teasing may be in order.)  :)

Well thought out and written eskimo.  I know that he would never do anything to harm the game intentionally. I remember all the help he gave others in the AW days and how he enjoyed extending himself to help. As for a 1 month ban, I personally do think that is a tad long. When working TOS in AW a 1 month ban would be for someone that was caught in the act of cheating (or solid proof). But as you said, he is taking it fully on his shoulders and I greatly respect anyone with a pure character such as his. I will fly with him anytime and it will always be an honor.

What was DmdBT's AW CPID? I might know him (and in good fashion, flame him accordingly) :)

He went by many names. He started back in the old days in AW on GEnie, handle then was 4980 and later 6686. When AW went to AOL he helped out as an "unofficial trainer" and the handle was Big T until another Big-T showed up and he then changed it to DmdBT. When AW3 came out he toggled between that and WB's. When he got to AH he went back to DmdBT until around tour 14 or so then he switched to Lonz.  Now you ask yourself how do I know all this?? I did my homework .
Now if I can only learn how to survive in AH .
