My X45 arrived!

Its up working, not spiking, and the drivers are nice and stable under XP (even got the rotories going

)

Yeah, my only "real" complaint about my two X-36's was the HAT switches dyin.

The X-36s' seemed a tad slow in response times, it may only have been me, but my MS FF Pro seemed to be smoother and faster.

Take the X-36 or X-45 an throw in some rudder pedals and it's almost, kinda, sorta like being in a real plane.

I kinda wish one of the "big boys" that do separate throttle and stick setups would include Force Feedback, I really miss the stiffing of the stick as I neared compression speeds in a dive.

My current setup is a TM Cougar with CH USB Pro Pedals.

I don't think I could ever go back to a "twisty stick".

milnko : I too love FFB here in AH . I have ch pro throttle , ffb2 stick and ch pro pedals . Works great , enough buttons with the CH throttle and the loving hat don't wear out .

I love the gimbal action on Microsofts FFB2 stick . I feels great .

Nice thing about ffb is that you don't have to keep pushing the stick forward in gv's if you don't want to

Revvin : Sorry but I have gone through at least 5 of those , they bust when I get excited and push to hard I guess , but these ones I got now don't , tg .

My second HOTAS is X36 as well. This time usb verion which is much better than gameport version (puke).

ABOUT VIEW HAT
After 2.5-3 years flying HAT1 switshs start showing some unsensitive phenomenom but still working. Its not problem, because locall Saitek inport company says they have a new ones in stock. My AH&RL friend RBug have X36 usb now about 1.5-2 years without problem. I just wonder how some people rape viewhats and cry afterwards why they are sooo bad

You will get along with your new setup just fine. I have been using the same x36 for 3 years and in that time it has slammed against the wall, hit the floor in style, and nothing on it has wore out yet.

I have the ffb2 stick now just need the peddals and throttle. OS is win98 se.

Thats OK I have a backup plan. A FLCS/TQS/RCS set with the stickworks upgrade arriving Monday morning.

The only issue at this stage, potentially, is the wife

shows how I made them , books wraped in towels for my arm rests . Their pretty basic , just screwed on , easy to take off if I ever would want too . The desk itself came from Staples and is the bigest that I could buy 30 by 60 in that had no extra toejam under it , alot cooler this way .

Nope , I use win98se too , and BTW it will work in all the new os's too .

reaper you are going to tell him the "how to" wrap the tape around the hat to make it work right ain't ya ?

<-- ( is that what this was for ? ) I figured you might have forgotten that part . Why don't ya post some pics how that's done etc . I am sure alot of guys could get some good from it .

And last I most likley do RAPE my joysticks , as I work with my hands all day long doing boring factory work . Like I posted to Vulcan

if he is easy with it most likely will last him longer . But the thing is I don't have this problem with the setup I have now . It's built better IMO .

And the TM FLCS/TQS/RCS with the Stickworks upgrade arrived today.

Not spikey, works very well. Although the feel is not quite as nice as the Saiteks solidness.

Even more amazing, it passed the local border patrol/customs check/wife. Guess those gift vouchers I slipped her worked.
