Seeking Squadron
« on: November 30, 2002, 02:52:17 AM »
A little about my flying experience...

I started flying Air Warrior for Windows via Compuserve. Im not sure of the date, but it was sometime around '95 (I joined Earthlink when they opened their doors to play AW via an ISP to give a better time frame). I flew AW2 and AW3 Online until gamestorm dumped it. My handles were GG1 and X-Cal. Im sure not many will remember me, although there may be a few that flew FR that will.

I have been flying in AH for a few weeks now, and I feel as though Im getting a better grip on the new surroundings. Im sure my record will reflect my early troubles :)

Now for squadron details...

I am seeking a squadron that flies together when online, as a rule. I do not wish to be in a squadron that has members scattered about on 3 or 4 fights. I prefer to remain a Knight, as there are some handles I recognize here.  Squad night attendance will not be mandatory (as my work hours will not permit me to commit to a set time/day) although I prefer to join a squad that does fly regularly on set intervals (for the times I can join).

If your squadron feels as if they could use a fighter pilot, feel free to post here.

awXCAL,

If you would like to give VF-17 a trial run to see how you fit in with our small but growing group we would be glad to have you. I understand completely about having a group in the same part of the game skies while you fly and that is what I am striving to make happen with VF-17 as we get started here. I have decided to form VF-17 under the Knight banner and intend on staying there the majority of the time. Although I do like jumping to the other countries occasionally for a week or so.

Since we are still small and starting out I have not set a squadron night but that will be happening soon. It is not going to be an absolutely must fly with squadron each time or you are out but I would like to see our members flying when they can. The last squadron I was in had a squad night and it was setup like that. If you were there you flew with the squadron and if you could not make it you didn't and it worked.

If you are interested then let me know and I will keep my eyes open while in the MA for you. You can email me through the profile link here on the board.

Good Luck in your squadron hunt.

No. 272 Squadron "Whispering Death"  flies for knights.  We are a mostly european squadron, but have a few state-sider's as well.  Our Squad times are the CAP's on Saturday evenings, and the Sunday evening TOD.  It is not mandatory, but is very helpful in learning teamwork.  We also try to fly all major scenarios as a squadron.

There is no experience necessary to fly with us, and we don't give a hoot about your past scores.  :D  As long as you try to help your fellow squadmates out, your as good as in.  :)

If you are interested, send me an email at jinx557@hotmail.com or talk to me online.

If you flew in the later part of AW's life, you should remember us.
