Warbird Museum in Mesa, AZ
« on: November 30, 2002, 10:28:07 PM »
i just was in Mesa, AZ for the holidays and happened to see a sign for a flight museum in Mesa at Falcon field.

i had a 1/2 hour to spare today before my flight home and i dropped by.

OMFG it is awsome!!!! :D

they have the only known flyable Me109 e4!!!
it has a real DB601 engine and everything!!!

it was sooooo dmn cool :D

they had like 10 planes including:

N1k2
Yak9-u
Spit IX
P47d-25
P38L

i was throughly suprised at the size ratios of these planes.

guess which was the smallest of all the planes there???

Yak9-u

it couldnt have been more than 6 1/2 feet tall at its highest point.

on the other hand... the N1k2 was just as big as the P47d ?!?!

the N1k2 was the 3rd biggest plane there.. HTF does it manuever so well!?!?!

Im kicking myself that i didnt have a camera  + the gift shop was sold out of the disposible ones :(

+ it was "helicoptor" day there...... some 50 helos
you could go far a ride for $25 !!!

for $99 you could go for a ride in a AC47 gunship (or something like that.. a C47 type plane with many guns used as a troop transport in Vietnam)

they also had some 40 bi-planes and real early WW1 era planes for you old school guys.

i HIGHLY recommend anyone in the area to go chk it out.

right at Falcon field airport. way cool!!!!!
I don't know what to put here yet.

I had heard that this museum was being transfered to Washington state by the Boeing factory area. :(  I thought it was supposed to happen by the end of this year.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
