Was checking in on the CMMC2 forums - is that you over there looking for a command?

If you are interested in a German command I'd suggest we play some 'CMMC training battles' via email and/or TCP/IP.

I ran a Battalion, and then a Regiment for most of the 1.5 years of CMMC1. My CMMC1 Division commander is probably going to be a Korps (i.e. German Corps) commander in CMMC2.

2 of the main reasons for the 'seniority' (i.e. CPX and CMMC1 experience desirable for operational commanders) consideration for commanders:

1. There's alot to learn to be able to effectively issue operational orders for your command (see http://www.combatmission.com/CMMC/Academy/academy.htm for an example of the duties of even a Battalion commander outside of fighting CMBO/CMBB battles) - the 'education load' caused alot of commanders to fall behind and either quit or be relieved in CMMC1.

2. Quick battles, 'ladder scenarios', etc. provide the exact opposite type of 'skill' for CM that is needed in the CMMCs. Realism is stressed. 20% losses to take a daily objective is a total failure, as replacements are not a given and you are commanding a unit 24 hours a day. Alot of 'first round' battalion commanders gutted their commands in 24 hours for minimal gain operation-wise, and their commands were then unable to function as combat units.

In short - we should play some battles. I know GM Ted (he helped me learn how to be a Regimental commander in the CMMC 'on the fly' when I was suddenly 'promoted' to run the Regiment that my Battalion was a part of) and I'll be 'working' for my CMMC1 Divisional commander as a KG Commander in CMMC2 most likely. Ted will be much more able to 'sell' you to a Divisional commander despite your lack of CPX and CMMC1 command experience if he can say you've been training vs. CMMC1 players on CMMC1 type battles.

The CMMC seems to be exactly what I have been looking for.

Sounds like a great idea to get some battles under our belt. I can do both tcp/ip and email. I'll get that mail to you later tonight when I get home from work.

Guys - I've just started playing CMBB and seem to remember seeing something about CMMC but the website hadn't been updated since 2001 and I assumed it had died.

Is CMMC2 devoted to CMBB or CMBO - do you have a link?

Just did a search and found the site for CMMC2. Looks really good - maybe I'll check it out further once I've spent more time with the game.
