Features Request

Just a request for a few tid-bits I'd like to see added to the terrain editor and AH itself.

1) Show Enabled Models button needs to be "remembered" by the game, like view distance and clutter status. It'd be a bit more handy then hitting it every time we fire up AH.

2) An ack accuracy slider in Arena Settings would be pretty handy for CM's to control the AI firing accuracy. As it stands the small caliber stuff is fairly accurate, but the big cannons (5" and 88's) couldn't hit the moon at ten feet. Say, one for each caliber group. Those being Small Caliber (30mm and under), Medium Caliber (37mm, 40mm) and Flak (88's and 5" guns).

3) Map a specific clutter pattern and type to each terrain tile instead of randomly generating it. This would not only eliminate the "hiding on my end, visible on his end" problem with GV's, but it'd also free up a little resources from doing random generation continually.

4) Bomb crater depth would be nice to have again. Not to mention the ability to shutdown runways with craters!

5) Larger gunsight area for the F4U. The F4U has this utterly HUGE piece of gunsight glass, and this tiny little gunsight.

6) Double the width of roads to allow for two way traffic. Instead of trucks just disappearing at the end of their run, they could turn around and head back to a given depot. This would also make them a bit easier to spot from the air. Them little gray lines get real small at 5k or higher. Rail lines could be done in a similar way; instead of turning around they'd run in a loop. Naturally the limit for roads and rails would have to be increased.

7) The ability to remake airfields in different layouts would be great. Combined with skinning, you could whip up literally any airfield type. Historical maps could benefit greatly from this, especially if the map maker wants to take it this far.

8) Tracer options could be expanded to include a lot of what's been proposed in this thread. To offer up a pair of new options, I'd suggest these: A: The "No Tracers" option would make the last 10 rounds for each gun only tracers. Or B: add an "Empty Gun Warning" option under tracers that does the same thing.

9) Would it be possible to make the smoke from ack, damaged parts, etc not square? It looks very weird since normally smoke is, well, roughly round in shape. Increasing the time smoke lingers would be a good thing too.

flak not sure if its in that thread (couldnt be bothered wading through it :)) but some pilots used a method where they had tracers on the last 50 rounds or so , so as the saw tracers they knew it was almost empty.Rest of the ammo was non tracer.

As for new airfield layouts im all for that. Hey we could even make real models of famous airfields like duxford or i could model my local airfield :) (north wield) used by the first squadron to aquire spitfires in WW2 :)

And most of those pilots that used that method died when the enemy realized they were out of ammo. :)
Most of the people you meet in life are like slinkies. Pretty much useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.
