With esitmates of the number of players who I believe will sign up to play, makes that 300 number look competitive:

Star Wars Galxey         500k
Sims Online                 1 million
Planetside                    300k
EVE                              250k
Star Trek                      150K

I hope AH does something quick to grow the community this can be a fun game at times.

It could be Starwars Galaxies i think.  Yes it's a mmorpg (or whatever abbreviation people use), however it's unlikely i'm able to fly my spitfire there.

Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."

No matter what AH does, I'll be giving Star Wars Galaxies a shot. They surely don't compete in genre, but they do compete for the the Dollars. Some of us have a limited amount of money (and time) we can spend on a monthly subscription, so I SWG knocks my socks off, you may see me turn in my wings for a while.

TAKE NOTE THE ABOVE WAS SIMPLY TO SWEET AND EASY TO NOT WHINE ABOUT SOMETHING so.....please ignore, lol.
Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".

Just want to point out that this is not quite true. Of course, currently AW doesn't have many players. But before it started its downward spiral in the hands of EA, AW typically had several arenas with a couple hundred players, a bunch of arenas with 50 to 150, and 50 to 100 in full realism.

At the release of AW3 the full real arena was usually full at 250 and there were perhaps a half dozen relaxed realism arenas with 150 to 250 players. (It did decline over the next couple years with no upgrades.)

During the time when AW was provided on AOL there were typically in excess of 2000 players online each night.

Aces High has plenty of growth potential!

(I won't even bother to comment on Sweep's proposal... scenarios rock.)

The current capture the flag system probably isn't the best possible solution for the MA.

Well, that sums up the only point I can agree with 28sweep...

Think "muckmaw" said it best its all about the dollars/time you have to play...the closes any of these come to AH is EVE which is space combat sim.

When it comes to MMORPG, you've got different camps.

There are those who are rabid WWII Flight sim fans and will not play anything else.

Then you have folks like me, who love aviation, but will try anything when it comes to entertainment. Like there was this time I cut a hole ina cantaloupe and put it......err where was I?

Anyway, I used to play Ultima Online. I could give a rats bellybutton about mideval warfare and all that Harry potter crap, but it was a good time.

So now something new, like Star Wars Galaxies is coming down the pipe. Folks like me will try it out. If it's entertaining, and more fun than anything AH offers, I'll switch. I could afford $15.00 a month times 2, but I don't have the time to get really good at any one game, so I would choose one of the other.

The bottom line is, a game that rests on it's laurels (Especially an MMORPG) eventually gets knocked off it's pedestal.

Now, AH has the best customer support in the business. The game is getting a little old. The MA hamster wheel needs some refinement. AH needs something to add spice back into the game before games like SWG come  out.

The hard core WWII gamers will always be loyal to AH. But how many people are there in this niche market and can AH survive on their subsciptions alone.

But Dale knows his business. He knows what he's doing. I'm sure he has something up his sleeve to stay competitive.

I wasn't aware we were failing.  Thanks for letting me know I'm a failure.  Without your insight, I would have never known the truth.

Don't think anyone is saying anyone is a failure Mr. Fly just that as paying customers we would like to be heard.

Only problem I see with SWG is if you make a mistake with your player you can never become a jedi.

Fly I think I may be your father....
