BTW, Fester, you lost all my respect on Saturday night. I'll forgave the fact that you were camping a spawn point with a Panzer. It's when I put 2 shells into you, and you bailed instead of taking it like a man that I lost all respect!

Seriously, I need the kills alot more than you do. You could have sat there another 3 seconds!

Anyway, Top 15 pilots get a $100 cash. So what will this do? Score padding? Less suicide Jabos? More chutes to kill?

I hope it isn't going to end up as a cash incentive for kill stealing and other such reprehensible actions...time will tell.

While I respect the intentions of HTC with this...

Kills over time..... nuff said (I land my kills and am penalized.)

Points: Look at some of the top points scorers note the amount of sorties:

I cant quit my income paying job to get the amount of time some of the current score whoring jackals have to play this game....

Dont take my word for it go pull up the ranks page yourself and view the pilots who make up that ranking page ....

You might be amazed how some of these dweebs make it up there.

I don't think killstealing really helps your rank that much.

Its comparitively easy to get a high fighter rank- you just have to be halfway decent.

Attack rank isn't to bad, bomber and GV rank are a little tougher.

Wish I had the time to compete, scores are heavily based on numbers of kills(Read "time online" into that one), when you get 150 or less each month (ATA) kinda takes you out of the loop...

I think this is a rather common misconception. Granted, time online does play a role (especially for overall rank- how else are you going to get your rank decent in everything?), but 'points' isn't a 'major' part of the rank. It is 1/5th of what goes into fighter rank. The other four categories are weighted the same as points are.

I think what killed your rank was kills per hour, not points. Your K/T is really low.

Also, I don't think that 'landing your kills' has a negative effect on your score. It lowers K/T some (not by much, imo), but it raises K/D and points.

Being outstanding in one category (in your case, K/D) doesn't do as much for your rank as being 'good' in all the categories.

I dont think time online translates to rank. I know it doesnt.

Bradys 5 has less then 10 hours in fighter mode but has an 142 kills and 20 deaths and is ranked 74th in fighters. He averages 15 kills per hour. and 3 per Sortie. Hes ranked 9th overall with 42 main hours.

I have 44 hours in Fighters and am only ranked 102.

Some use "time online" as an excuse.

There are only maybe 50 guys in ah that are capable of pulling this off.

The rest of us can have fun hunting umm down by order of rank.....
