"Basically.....how ya gonna stop Fester winning every month?"

Fester, who has 34 kills and 2 assists flying 3 sorties (and no deaths) is ranked 425th overall.  :D

Someone explain this to me:
Fester has not flown an attack sortie, and is ranked 609th in the attack category.

Daddog has not flown an attack sortie either, and yet his attack ranking is 9th.

How does that work?

You are, of course, exactly right.  But I am sure they considered this?

Within our squad we have an internal contest (without cash awards oif course).   The only scroing that counts is in events however.

A contest such as this based on performance in events would have been an interesting twist, and perhaps a welcome boost to events as well?

As is, it doesn't effect my life one way or the other (yeah like I had a chance at it? :) )  Will be interesting to watch from the sidelines as the big guys go at it I guess.

It will be nce to hear the top guys squeak when they are shot down but this contest really cuts out folks that dont sit in front of their puter all day practicing cutting out there engines in a 1 vs 1 just so they wont get killed. I'm sure the vast majority of players doesn't get the 150-200 hours a month that will be needed to win this prize.

I read the announcement and immediatly yawned.  It'll be good for the thirty or so people who've had enough practice to manipulate the scoring system.  I did that once and ended up ranked 75th for a while.

Overall standing is meaningless.

Guess if HTC wants to reward score mangling that's their call.

To answer the question of this topic "HTC thought this through"...

No, they didn't. It's that few money, so it doesn't require spending thoughts.

What Turbot said. I'd rather the prizes went to special achievements in events.

Was/Is it Darkblue who's on a massive streak in the CAP event? Thats the sort of flying we want to be encouraging, not score gaming in the MA which is 75% knowing how to game the system than it is about skill.

Prizes for 5 kills in an event, kill streaks, special achievements. All stuff like that. Exactly what the guys are giving out medals for in CAP. Would be nice to have small cash prizes too, even if it's only equivelent to a months free flying.

Forgive me members but I am in a bad mood and need to vent.

SCREW YOUR DAMM SCORE SYSTEM !!!!

I used to be bothered by having a crappy rating I really dont give a flip anymore.  For the majority acheiving a score constitutes endless vulching, or camping in a field gun to horde prox kills around a CV. example;

Joe Six pack has landed 25 victories of the <<---Im better than you muah haha squadron--->>

The MA has become a huge playtime romper room sandbox ok im done...

OK, OK ALREADY.

I got tried of reading these, so I skipped past the last few. So what I say may already have been said.

I wouod like somebody to tell me what other online flight sim has any kind of offer like the one we just received. A chance to win some loot by playing a gme I and I'm sure the most of you enjoy. I don't see myself ever getting to win any of this loot, top 15, well maybe if all but 14 guys where to quit AH then I might stand a chance, but I'm sure I would still not make it in. But who cares, the idea is a good one. It gives each and every pilot in here a chance to work on inproving them selfs if they want to. If you dont want to, then you don't have to. and as far as what planes people will fly, I dont care. I have shot down each and every kind of plane in this game. it just depends on who the other pilot is. the plane is only as good as the person at the controls.

HTC crew, well done, I think it is a great idea. keep up the great work and by all means, keep the good ideas coming.

Wolf, It IS a great idea. Unfortunately with the scoring system as it is it does not reward those pilots who really deserve to be rewarded.

Maybe half of the guys who will qualify in the top 60 deserve to be there on merit. I hope to be there, $50 pays for almost 4 months of AH, not bad, but I don't really deserve to be there and neither do a lot of other guys. I'd get murdered in the last man standing thing. I know it and a lot of others know it.

The people who should be rewarded are the ones who do something special. This is most evident in special events where certain peoples flying shines through. These are the guys that should be getting the $ and the public recognition. Not the dweebs in the MA who have too much time on their hands and spend all day bombing stuff with only 4k bombs to get 1322% bombing stats.

Agree, the score system is so porked that after almost 24 hours, I still only have 1 kill in a fighter when I should have about 17 kills.  I landed once 8 kills(reloaded once) and I landed a 6 kills(also reloaded once).  So this is 14, plus an earlier flight with 3 kills landed.

It's not that I'm ever going to make it to top 15, I would have to play at least 3 hours a day to stay in top 100, but for those who could even make it, if the system is porked, it's a damn shame.

This prize system is shadowing the true spirit of flying in AH, having fun time helping each other.  Now many will fly for themselves and won't even try to clear your 6 if there is just merely too much nme.  Worst maybe they won't even call your 6 so you die and be out of their way to top 15.

That is the worst idea ever in AH, it's my opinion.  At least, get the scoring system working correctly.

By the way, does it mean that the ones with the best CPU/VGA/FPS will get the higher scores?  My FPS often drop to less than 15 in furballs, can't aim nme at all.  If one as never this prob, it's normal he get more kills.

Anyway, life is a squeak and then you die.

:)

Oh great!

I just logged in AH, I flew one flight, got 1 kill, landed, checked score.  It says, 2 kills in fighter.

To confirm, I logged off, went to web page and rechecked my score.  Once again, 2 kills!  So where are my 17 kills made yesterday?

Awarding cash prizes on a so porked scoring system is lame.  I was already PISSED about this scoring system for not counting some of kills.

I don't really care about scores, but it's fun to know how many you got after one month of playin, having an idea where you are in the horde, poor, average, good, an ace.

But now knowing that cash will be given to someone on a so porked scoring system make me sick.

I'm not going to play more to try to get my score higher.  I think I'm going to play much less, keeping a good mood instead of being pissed by the system, maybe even get rid of that game.

I'm just going to wait and see if most people will be as gentle as usual, if they are going to call 6, or if they are going to be lone fighters not giving a damn helping friends to keep their good scores.

I think this is going to show the worst of many people.  I hope, this cash prize won't last more than a month.  Clouding everything is the darkside(money).

Joyful,
I just looked at your scores and stats.
You are killing GVs in fighter mode.  You don't get credit for this.  You only get credit for killing aircraft in fighter mode.  When you go after GVs, do it in Attack mode.
