I dont know if limiting the angle of paradrop is right, cause you can bail out from a plane which is having a angle of 90 degrees, can't you?

Theoretically you can bail out of a plane from all sorts of angles and maneuvers IF you can extract yourself from both the physical confines and the g forces.

So can you imagine several or a bunch of heavily laden paratroopers trying to get out of a plane doing any kind of steep climb, especially the sudden steep pullouts many C-47s do in Aces High?

Even if the paratroopers were trained for the move, how could they not pile on to each other and get tangled up, or avoid the tail surfaces?

Some might make it out and even remain functional, but surely many fewer than the eight required to capture a base.  And if the survivors ever got back to the launch base, I doubt they would thank the pilot for that kind of beating.

A modest restriction on paratroopers being unable to jump if the C-47 exceeds, say, plus or minus 10 degrees from level flight, seems like a quick and easy fix that would preserve fun game play while making it more realistic too.

Same sort of thing that perhaps should be done to prevent heavy bombers from becoming dive bombers.

I've never liked that power-climb method for dumping the drunks.  I prefer to pop up to 800' (I was under the impression it was 800', is it really 700?) and once I'm over the town go into an 85 degree bank and pull back hard.  That way they're all starting out from a similar altitude.

I gotta admit, I love taking the goon in fast and pulling a full loop while dropping troops. Not realistic, but fun to do. More realistic would be to have pilots unable to up from a field that they were shot down at for five minutes. Then we "Hotdogs" wouldn't have to try these manuevers, but I prolly would anyway.:D

Well, yeah.  I didn't say it was any more realistic, just that it was my preferred method.

gotta say after reading what halo said i can see his point on the game limits imposed.

but then AKsnake has a good point too.

I think the problem is just how many want it totally serious in the MA and how many want to be able to do anything, even crazy stuff.this BB isnt everyone so you cant have it dictate the way the game is run.

seems to me HTC are actually adressing this problem halo.
I have a feeling the mission arena is just what you'd be after.Im sure they are going to have pilots set on missions and a new behaviour modeling may well  introduce more limits on us.HTC said it would have a career type mode to it so im assuming hes thinking ranks and taking orders etc?
perhaps we'll see bans on dangerous paratroop dropping in it? maybe suicide bombing will stop when it actually kill our pilots?

finally realistic behaviour? I hope so :D

8?  Oops, distracted by one of those annoying details ... 8, 10, however many paratroopers wanna go loop-de-loop.  :)
