Set up for Dec 6
« on: December 04, 2002, 06:02:28 PM »
Hi, all!  We've got two possible set ups for this weekend.  Kanttori's Finland-Russia map is finally in Ronni's hands, but may or may not be blessed and loaded on the server in time.  If it is, I'd like to go with that one, even though it would involve Russia and Germany for a second week.  It's a facinating map, and an unusual planeset (with appropriate skins on all planes...they look GREAT!).

If it's not ready, we'll run a PTO plane set  on the Perdonia map.  It doesn't represent any particular local or time, but simply attempts to balance somewhat the capabilities of both sides.  Yes, the Allies will still have an advantage in Jabo capability, but that can't be helped.  The following plane set and settings will be used:

Japan:
CV - A6M5, D3A, TBM, LVT(2) and (4)

Airfields - N1K2, Ki-61, A6M5, Ki-67, D3A, C-47, all GV's except Panzer-IV and Ostwind

Vehicle Bases - All GV's except Panzer-IV and Ostwind

Allied:
CV - F6F, SBD, TBM, LVT(2) and (4)

Airfields - P-47D-11 & D-25, P-38L, P-40E, Boston-III, A-20, C-47, all GV's except Panzer-IV and Ostwind

Vehicle Bases - All GV's except Panzer-IV and Ostwind

Base capture will be enabled, radar (bar/dot) at 50/25, all other settings at CT standard.

We just had 2 PTO setups in a row two weeks ago!!!!

People other than me keep asking for a late war ETO. Whats the problem with it, why do you guys keep ignoring it? You finnally give us the P-47, and it's freakin PTO. We're the only guys willing to fly Japanese as a squad to help out the 27th Sentai. So now we fly the P-47 finnally and watch the 27th sentai get banged to death, or we fly Japanese and miss our chance at the P-47, because for some reason you guys got a late war ETO bug up your ass.

Sabre,

As much as I would like another run in the Pacific, it seems that we are long over due for a old fashioned summer, 1944 USAAF and RAF vs. the might of the Luftwaffe setup.

The guys who like that kind of setup have been waiting a long time now as the last few European theatre setups have been early war.

A 1944 ETO bomber offensive setup would be welcome.

:o  Yes, yes, Lowe-san, we of the 27th, (all 5 of us) are holding HT's cat hostage so we can garner more flying time in our beloved KI-61's and N1K's until the 84 arrives.  Then we shall have a ride worthy of your split-essing squad,  err.... P-47's vs our N1K2's :D  (joke)

BTW - I haven't been flying in a week.  PC died and I have to rebuild all those neat DL's and add-ons I once had...

oh... why is my name in all caps?  You singaling me out for a highlight name be wary of??? :p (joking)  I actually am honored that someone thinks that much of me to put my name in spotlights.:D

Yes we do fly the N1k2 in the MA (shudders at the thought of flying in there), but you know we love our adopted Ki61's every bit as much as our canon dweeb NiK's.  Hell, the 61's the only thing we have with near enough speed to keep up with you allies faster iron.

Hey!  Maybe 'we' can help y'all out in those 47's?
 ;)

Sabre, I agree with the above. I think it is about time for a late war ETO set-up. From what I read on the forum here most of the guys aggree with me.

I don't have a problem with a PTO, CBI or Eastern Front scenario every now and then - it is only fair to those squads that are based on fighting in that Theater.

But it seems we have got in a real rut here lately with nothing but PTO, Eastern Front or BOB early war stuff. As much as we appreciate the work Kanttori put into making a new map for us we would rather have the Late War ETO scenario. Maybe something on the lines of Bigweek or something useing the Large Europe map.

WE WANT A LATE WAR ETO SET-UP!

I wasn't objecting to Finland vs. Russia.

I do think the alternate should be a Summer of '44 over Western Europe though.

How bout early P47s and P38s against FW190A5, Bf109G2 and Bf109G6. And some B17s, A20, B26?

Late 1943 escort scenario?

As previously Stated, their are two maps on the way for a 44 plane set, one in the East and one in the west eta MID December, late December. Finland is alos about ready, It will be up this week or next hopefully, after that 44 is mostlikely the next timeframe plane set.

Nothing like heart pounding, dog fighting, bombing, 1944 Allie vs Axis excitement, wether toward France or Germany escort missions, bombers and all. I would really like to see this aswell, and would be happy if you ran that for a month. A classic battle of the best of the best for dominance of Europe.

I don't object to Finland, I really don't object to a PTO. I was expecting Finland because I know guys have been working hard on the map, and the skins. I know a lot of people are waiting to fly it. If however it's not ready, I was hoping to see a late war ETO for a change. I think Sabre's choice of the PTO setup was an attempt to make everybody happy, by the planes he included.
It is a good idea, if there are enough Japanese players, which there never seems to be. So that leaves the 325th flying the p-47 finally in what would be lopsided numbers against the Japanese guys, or flying Japanese the whole week against P-47s. It just kind twisted my knickers.

Guess theres no easy solution, you can't make everybody happy all the time. I will settle for once every 6 weeks though.:D  This over two months of constant 1943 and earlier gets old after a while.

I am rather new to this message board and CT it's self.  I have only been flying in CT for a couple of months.  CT is a lot better than flying in that mass jungle called MA.  I just wanted to make some comments towards the Late ETO themes.  I joined the 325th to be able to fly the P-51 in CT, but right now it doesn't really look like I am going to do it. So I end up flying it in MA.  My point is this, it seems like there is a little click that dictates what is going to happen in CT. I don't mind flying the older planes and even flying for the emperor in PTO actions. Myself and along with others would like to see some late ETO's.  I mean why command a squadron of P-51's if you never get to fly them.  If I could design the terrain for the late ETO's I would but like I said before, I am still new to some aspects of this AH. I don't mean to ruffle any feathers but I would like to fly my P-51 in CT someday.
