Is this a cat-free zone?
I'm delighted to hear your dog is working out great. All of my animals were shelter resuces that were going to be put down if no one could foster them until more room was available.
I got "Mokey" when he was 3 weeks old...shelter called, they were packed full and he was on the short list to be put down unless someone could foster him until room freed up at the shelter. For some reason, they called and asked if I was interested in fostering or adopting him. They knew I had an older, sassy cat and really wasnt into kittens. But the girl said he was a very sweet cat with "personality" and I should at least see him. So, why not...went over, little black puff ball...wasnt impressed and thought it was just bad luck for him. Then he looked at me, purred, then CHOMPED on my finger. Yep, he has attitude. Box em up! Adopted him and brought him home...my one year old cattle dog treated him like it was her baby. Funny to watch a young female dog tend to a kitten.
Spin forward a year later...we got a call that someone dumped of a litter of kittens in the local Kmart parking lot. Some folks recovered them and some were adopted, but two were very very thin and didnt look like they'd make it. So, we brought them home and just hoped they'd live a few more days. Well, slowly, they gained weight and made a full recovery. My Ex GF kept Smudge (he isnt black, but he's not brown either...he's a lil of both) and Pudgey (he can eat!) looks identical to Mokey in his little tuxedo-like look.
Mokey is now 2, and Pudgey just turned 1. These guys play hard and sleep hard LOL...Mokey isn't too bright, but he's handsome...Pudge is the thinker, always into something and always exploring any shopping bags that come his way.
Here's how they are during their "busy days"
