What keeps me coming back to the game
« on: April 30, 2001, 02:31:00 PM »
This is a film I took last night.  I went up for a single sortie then logged off afterwards... its just that it was an incredible sortie.

The thing that made the sortie best was the text buffer.  Pay attention to it.

<S> to my squadies
<S> to those LW dweebs StSanta and Asts

Was a blast:

Best sortie ever

Oh yeah, I remember that one. You just kept on killing and I thought "wut, he AIN'T in a dweebtshjook?"

Was cool; first I snook up on the lanc you'd damaged, put 30 mm's into his wingroot:

"Kill x by AkDjv"

Then there was the stalling F4U. Just before he crashed, I put 30mm in him too

"Kill 2 by AKDjv"

I decided then that I MIGHT get a kill if I moved in on someone that was straight yer six. But man, I was afraid to blow that Spit shot  .

Glad to see that M3's can take .50's as well as it can take 13mm's; several passes and no kill there for me.

Great mission Djv <S!>

For an allied sissy peasant farmboy, that is.

Fun film, DJ.  What I want to know is where do you find spits to fly on your 6 at 400+ yards that are unable to hit you?

And don't think I didn't apreciate it Santa!  Afterall, I did do everyone the favor of dragging their one and only escort down to the deck;)

Ah.. lag can be brutal.  Either I'd already gotten a pilot kill on this one or he'd already crashed.  You hit a ghost:D  I'd only pinged him 2 or 3 times.  One 30mm hit would have been enough to get the kill.

I cannot begin to tell you how hard I was laughing the whole time I was dragging this guy.  Its ludicrous to give those two hispanos a nice angle shot and they can stay behind an F6F forever.. my only hope was for help.  I really thought you'd close faster;)  I also couldn't believe the guy didn't even ping me as I wasn't really doing any evasives.

I'm just thankfull that this pilot was no match for your little girl LW skills;)

Note to new pilots:
  • If someone is flying in a straight line and you can't hit him, its a good time to spend some time "offline" shooting at drones.
  • If someone is flying in a straight line for more than 10 seconds out of a furball.. you might want to check your 6.
My favorite was when I spotted the second M3.  I noticed that Asts(aka RAM) was engaged low level with an F4u.  I checked what plane he was in and saw "190".  I knew he didn't need help;)  Hell... I thought he'd need help when those two La-7's jumped him... was wrong there too;)

And Curly,

Those spits are out there.  Of course, its trial and error.  I seldomely post .ahf's of the pilots that don't miss;)

Hehe nice film, Dejavu. And nice streak <S>.

BTW that F4U was being a damned pain in the prettythang...was a very long fight going down from 18K to Sea level, whatever I did I found that the Chog was a little step further than me...finally I managed to get a shot at him when he levelled and dived.. turned out that he was on fumes and very very light   .

The La7 thing was nothing of the other world. The tipical forced overshoot scenario where the bad guy shots a 5 second burst on a skidding plane just to miss it   . He missed and I got a burst on him on one of them as he extended. Then I had to rtb fast due Real Life (parents calling me for help for a little task)

Again, congrats on the streak   <S>
