With all the discussion on how to generate a good ranking, I thought I would give examples of how to pork your rating in a single evening.
1) Forget to designate a sortie as “attack”. I did this twice. Take off in a heavy F6F, not click on attack, get 5 kills of GVs and PTs, land and repeat, for 10 total kills, none of which count towards “fighter” scoring. Helped to pork my K/T. I did, however, manage a 22% hit percentage.

2) Continue to fly with a now badly spiking joystick, leading to 3 augers in 15 minutes. Porked my K/D and K/S.
3) Fly three sorties where the fight evaporated before I could get there (this is what I despise about the pizza map). This really porked K/T and K/S.
After this sterling example of handsomehunk, I logged off, disassembled my joystick and cleaned the pots.
The following evening, with a properly working joystick, and paying more attention to details, I had a very good night, but concentrated on building “attack” rating. Tonight, I will try to repair my “fighter” score.
Last evening, one of my squad’s newbies asked me how to get a good ranking. My advice: “Don’t fly with me!”

My regards,
