When you do your part and serve and fight for your country then you can open your mouth, until then shut the hell up!

Get back and polish your boots soldier! It may well be that Username pays your salary. Without those tax dollars for the defence budget, there would be no 82nd.

And since when was having an opinion a right reserved for only soldiers?

It's your job to go out there, slaughter and be slaughtered. It's our job to cheer, moan, support and squeak about it.

That halted invasion was September 1994.

Don't get me wrong bud, I am glad we have things like freedom of speech. Believe it or not when I see someone burning the U.S. flag (after I get over wanting to kick the livin crap out of 'em), it actually makes me feel good that we live in a society where this is allowed. I just get tired of hearing people pretend they care about their country but don't even care enough to serve the same country - and it doesn't even have to be military service. If you can't serve in the military at least show some support.

I just got back from six months in a combat zone, got shot at, shot back and I don't want to come back to a hear critisism about the war from people that have no clue what is happening in some of the countries we have on our "watch/hit list"

Karnak, thank you for the Roman comment:)

But so does ours.
Just a different kind of slavery.  We have machines to do work that once would have had to have been done by slaves.

Since username claims to be in North Korea it seems doubtful he/she pays taxes in the US. Probably too dumb to hold enough of a job to even pay taxes anyhow. I will agree that only US tax payers have the right to an opinion in the US regarding government.

I don't speak specifically and in depth to those who post in the O' Club and for good reason.

It has been my experience in life, that very few poccess anything more than an opinion rather than speak to issues from a practical place.

The O'Club is rampant with ignorance(applying the true definition of the word and not intended to be cast as an insult).

I am proud and thankful for the sacrifice Wpnx and others make each day so that I might be free and that my children might have a future blessed with peace.

Thanks Wpnx and any others who give their service to our country.

And to the rest of you who take issue with those who give in this way to our country, consider yourselves void of substance and character, not to mention any common sense.

There is a difference between the politics of this world and those who serve under the light of the same....don't forget that.

And they do, they're the only ones that can vote.

My opinion was not about US policy. It was about how people here seem to prefer the "glory of battle" over peace. Perhaps this view is the product of playing computer games in your safe comfortable homes, never experiencing the threat and sacrifices of war.

Yes, I'm sure most of you served your country proudly. But the job of a soldier is not to actively seek out war, and not to regret if war doesn't occur. But to view war as a last resort. And I'm sure you all know that NK has mandatory military service.

When I see the posts on this forum concerning war, I'm reminded of the WWI reaction to the outbreak of war. Ignorantly and blissfully rejoicing it as they marched off to the battlefield.

Or maybe I'm just...

Don't hold your breath waiting for them to come around, it took my generation some 25 years to recognise and appreciate the fact that us soldiers in Nam were just doing our duty.

No sane responsible person wants war, however, it's not always to be avoided at any cost.
