A new mod for F1 2002 that completely revitalizes this game.

Its a big download at 265mb but its worth it..

Thats me in the Diablo, using Maverick's Top Gun trick.. the Ferrari slid right on by the inside of me into the gravel, and I made the turn no probs +)

well its no GPL or papy sim thats for sure!!

It takes a big upload to be able to host f12k2 or GTR2k2. For best results the host AND ALL clients should be set to 56k in the game.
Best I have seen is a race of 8 guys, think that was on a 512 upload DSL line, and it was pretty good.

The multiplayer interface in the game also will permit f1 cars and whatever other mods are running to join your game if you announce it public...

better to join a league or some such which uses private ips

I can't believe that was free, and F1 2002 is $20 at Wally World. It is Addicting.

I found F1 cars impossible to drive at first being into NCR2- 2002, but after a challenge from Krappy, dug into it. It’s just as good and I hate European racing. The GTR or whatever they are called are just too hard at this point, I like the F1 car stuff. Plus I dusted off the Logitech FFB and with a lot of tweaking it’s so damn good I’m really surprised. Going over those speed strips or whatever you call them on corners just add huge to the FFB stuff.

Great toejam. If you guys wanna post your times at various tracks I’ll try and beat them. Could be fun BBS banter crap.

Heh Creamo, I bought f12k2 just for the mods... I likely have less than 10 laps each at all the original tracks in f1 cars... But i've racked up over 1300 laps in GT's and NGT's since this mod was released..

I love F1 2002 - just about the best thing to come along all year. I've put in hundreds of laps in the F1 cars... and I haven't even done all the tracks yet! I've got a group of guys that I am running the 2002 season with... we did Spain tonight, and I pulled out the win!

If the 2nd place finisher hadn't had a little slip on the penultimate corner on the last lap, it would've been decided by less than a second. It was one of those awesome moments that gets you so wound up you are shaky afterwards.

Really, just a very solid game, with enough customizations that anyone from a rank newbie to a seasoned pro can jump in and race.

If my bastard web host would ever decide to come back online, I could post some screenshots!
