I would like to see all prop fighters that came out from WWII to the beginning of korea.
After all it is a game and we want a war anyway. What ever we can get will be fine
like the F4u4 with cannons and the F8F the Tempest and The TU-152(? hope I got the number right it the FW)

I don't rember the F identifier but how about the Tigercat, it was the only (I believe) twin enging figter the US Navy used during WWII.

Maybe this was a post war aircraft? Someone know?

The Tigercat was the F7F... the Bearcat was the F8F.

I happen to know that Pyro has a special liking for the Tigercat, but it never actually saw combat AFAIK.

Another wonderful twin-engined fighter that just missed combat was the DH Hornet. Think of it as a Mosquito, but smaller, lighter, and even faster.

Airplane suggestions. We are all trying to get our favorite plane in Aces High so why does ot have to see combat if it flew and can be model after the real one lets have it. No need to restrict to combat only. Alot of great planes came out after the war and never saw combat. But would make game fun anyway.

Thanks KROD, knew someone would know. The plane corssed my mind while I was reading the posts here. The only thing I can remeber about the Tigercat was building a model of when I was a kid.

So Pyro has aan affinty for the aircraft also. Maybe someday well see it up and flying.

You all do not know what you speak of.  I talked to everyone the other day that ever played Warbirds and they told me they wanted the following:

Fighter:   P-47M
Dual Role: P-47N

No other plane was ever mentioned.

I believe the FW Indian referred to is the Ta-152. A longnose FW which was fast, very fast. Had some problems in development and few made it to frontline service. Woulda been a monster to deal with.

For God's sake do the C47 before the JU-52!

Regarding the prospective F4U variants:

I'll be brave and vote for the F4U-1C (cannon-armed F4U-1A) in place of the standard F4U-4 model. For gameplays sake we'd be trading the -4's extra power and loadout capability for bigger guns only. The F4U-1C was built purely for ACM and strafing runs. F4U-1C's were deployed in the Pacific Theatre just a few months before the F4U-4 model. There were only 200 manufactured but all of them saw active combat duty flying with VMF-311, VBF-99, VMF-441, VBF-8, some with VF-84, etc. In one case of combat, Lt. Joe D. Robbins scored 4 of his 5 kills in one sortie using the F4U-1C! It's a bloodied airplane and definately deserves its place among the other worthy fighters of WWII. Of course it doesn't necessarily deserve PRIORITY mind you. Even if it is #50 on the modeling list, it would be nice to have a hand at the controls of the F4U-1C.

Well Windle, as a fellow Hog-driver, I would like to see the F4u-1A first as the premier AtA plane. Then the F4u-1D as the premier Attack version. Follow it up with the F4u-1C and F4u-4(a) as the late war versions and we have the Corsair RPS!:-)
