MojoCAF's Memorial Flight
« on: December 12, 2002, 09:48:38 PM »
ALL,

Tonight (Thurs) the Cactus Air Force conducted a Memorial Flight for a Fallen Brother.    Mojo.

Roughly a Hundred Rook Brothers Gathered at A35 on NDISLES for a Missing Man Formation,  A YAK Fly over,  Followed by A Large YAK ATTACK.

Mojo was a Founding member of the Cactus Air Force back in 1994.  He was friend, a squadmate, a father, and a Brother.   He passed away at the very end of October from Heart Failure.  He was only 35.   He left behind a Wife and young childeren.

At 9pm Eastern,  Pilots Gathered to honor him.

4 CAF Pilots...  CrashCAF, GunrCAF, Hawk51, ThndrCAF,  Flew the Missing Man formation,  While The rest of the CAF stood In man Icon (by bailing on the ground)  across the runway.   Fellow Rook Pilots Lined the Sides of the Runway.   They must have numbered  around 100.

Father Odd (OddCAF) said some words in memorial for Mojo and we had a moment of silence as the Formation flew over.

This was followed by a large group of YAK fighters as the Yak was Mojos favorite plane.   He was always a big fan of the YAK ATTACK dating back to AW days.

All Pilots dismissed and moved to A8.   We launched a HUGE Swarm of YAKS against A19, P21 and A18.   Shortly Afterward that entire Island was Captured in Mojos honor.

I am Curious what the enemy saw and thought...

On behalf of the Cactus Air Force I want to thank the Pilots and Squads that turned out to help us honor our fallen comrade.   The support shown was very moving and I know Mojo was smiling.

With CAF Tradition I Give the CAF Battle Cry and Moto

ODM!!!!!!!!

(oderint dum metuant...  let them hate so long as they fear)

::SALUTE::   MOJO!

Thanks to all who joined in!  I think we kind of overloaded the server, so for those who did not see the missing man formation, here are some screen shots:

The pull up, Crash in front, Thunder pulling up, HAWKeye on the left, me a bit behind on the right.

A view of the missing man and the troops on the field below.

That's very sad to hear and my condoloscences to all who knew him.  I never knew him though.  Interestingly, our Siamese Fighting Fish is named "Mojo" and I bet you, forever more, I will remember there was once a Yak pilot named Mojo who flew the virtual skies when I gaze at our fish.

I was wondering where all those planes came from.

You guys came down on that island like a hammer.  I'm honored to have been part of such a sound thrashing, even though I was one of the thrashed.

I'll always remember M0J0 as being not only a very good pilot and challenging opponent, but also a class act in AW and AH.  I'd like to express my condolences to his family and friends.

I cant imagine what it would have been like seeing Yak after Yak flying into the field.   It must have been around a hundred of them.

No doubt Mojo would have been very moved at this show of loyalty and solidarity... I know I was.

Mojo... I did not have the pleasure of knowing you, but I have no doubt you will be sorely missed.
