well, firstly you might want to turn dowm your sound accelleration a notch.

as far as drivers go....hmm well i have no idea what are good drivers for the savage chip cards.

you really need a new video card.  when you see someone posting in this forum about their newest upgrade, see if they won't sell you their old card.  i got a elsa GF2 32M for $35 a few months back.

good luck

F.

At what resolution are you playing? Try dropping it. But you *really* need a better graphics card. I run a dual P3-1000 and get 60 to 100 FPS at 1600x1200x32, half that with FSAA. I use a GeForce 4 4200.

An extra 256MB of memory would help but the main thing you want to do is replace that video card with a GeForce or Radeon chipset based card.

You can, but after about five minutes you'll switch back to your monitor.  TV's have terrible resolution.  Just move closer to your monitor if you want a bigger picture,

If you can find one, the current price/performance card seems to be the radeon 8500 pro if you can spend $200+, or a GeForce 4-4200 for about $120-$150.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

oh yes it can.  Oh god it can.
You lose plenty of sharpness, text needs to be two-three times the size to be readable.  (Look closely at a TV sometime, then look closely at your monitor, and notice the huge difference)
