So I log in this weekend, and lo and behold, there are 47 pilots in the CT!!!
I think to myself, this is unusual, I simply must try it.
So I jump over, and the first thing I notice is the beauty of the map. SOmeone did an aweful lot of work here. Unpaved fields, hardened Aircraft revetments, trees to be cleared at the runways end. All very exciting to a guy who has never left the main.
I grab a P-40E and climb out looking for a fight.
You want a one on one fighter duel? Here it is kiddies. And the pilots here are all pros. (At least, all the ones I've seen.) No gangbanging, no Lemming hordes. Base capture is still the name of the game here, but it takes a backseat to the simply thrill of the dogfight.
The channel text buffers (ALL OF THEM) were about situations, sitreps, and Salutes. No trash talking. No BS. I actually left channel 1 unsquelched.
Now for the downside. (For some, not me). The plane set is limited to the historical planes of the conflict. If your loooking for your Pony or LA7, forget it. It's not on this map. Maybe the next one. WHy not use this chance to try to learn a new plane?
I did not see much in the way of GVs so I was not thrilled with that.
ASide from that, the experience was a great one.
This may be the end of my MA days aside from Squad nights, and when I get the GV urge.
From one die hard MAer to all the rest out there, give the CT 1 hour of your time, and tell me I'm wrong.
I reallly hope the CT is Mission Arena Jr. If thats the case, AH has a very bright future ahead of it.
