51 Front view now sucks!!!

Looks a hell of a lot better than it used to.  That old P51 was one of the first 5 units introduced at beta.

Overall, this new P51 cockpit and skin are among the five best in the game.  Trouble is there are now about 40 units needing rework

The art guys have really come a long ways.  Now do to the P51B, LA5 and 7 what youve done with the 51 (then do the rest)

Plus, I think the gunsight range "bug" should be included as feature in the rest of the planeset. I really like it, and I think it's a nice approach to some more realistic gunnery.

IMHO totally the reverse is true.......more lead........more side view..........and the rendering is just superb.........if this is done to all AC then eye candy is going up a  big notch IMHO........

I L O V E the new P51 cockpit ... it's ... it's ... awsome. I especially like the shape of the canopy frame ... I wished I had the same in the P47:(

I cannot wait for a remake of the D30!!!

Go sit in the cockpit of a real 51 sometime... guess it sucked when North American made it too... because that is one of the best renderings of a cockpit that HTC has done too date.  Kudos to HTC for their diligent work on recreating actual cockpits.  

Shouldn't this post have been better put in the Whiney baby 1.11 thread????

I was wondering if anyone else experienced this...I just did a quick flight last night in the MA to check out the new P51 cockpit and when I closed below 1k on a low con the range counter disappeared.  It was such a surprise that I missed the shot I was about to take.  Is this the range bug you mention?

With some getting used to I think it IS actually a neat feature, as opposed to a bug...once saddled up on a con I have found that I am distracted by the counter so much that I am leading the counter, not the plane.

I didn't post anything because I only had one flight and thought it might have been my computer or some net lag or something that caused this.

Another EXCELLENT part of this release is the variable icon size. I'm using the size 12 now and I'd go smaller than that except I can't read the names on friendly icons.

Still, the small icons are superb!

Jeez, the more I fly it, the more I see what a great release this was. I can live without new aircraft for a while. We got TONS of aircraft.

It's these small, MAJOR improvements that I like.
