Changing handle

Bonehead question time! I'm currently 'qts' when flying. I'd like to change this to 'quartz'. I've tried the usual dot commands, and get the message that I can only change case,  but I still feel I'm missing something obvious.

How do I do it?

I would like to be able to change mine as well! When I first started flying we were limited to the amount of characters so I had to use Bldstain, would like to change it to Bloodstain in the game if that is at all possible.

You can't.  You need to write HTC.

This is probably a good feature.   I heard in another game that some people would get drunk, change their handle, and then act like obnoxious jerks with their new 'anonymous' persona.  Of course, I only heard about such things second hand.

I wish people would fly with the same handle they use in arena as on the BBS. I say stupid things sometimes but that cas I say it in the arena as well and so do alot of other stupid people who say these stupid things. Hows about  some honor and using the same name you fly with? Watcha got to worry about?

Hence the mute feature in the arena.

HTC will change your online username if you e-mail them...but be aware that you will lose all rank and perks if you do so.

It's just that quartz is a lot easier to say quickly than qts. But if it will cost me all my perks, well, I'm not a good pilot and do like to occasionally fly a perk plane, so I'll pass.

I believe that 8 characters is the max length allowed, so bloodstain would be too long.

According to the directions I have, printed from the HTC web page, you can type ".handle YourHandle" and change your name in the arenas.  Your account name cannot be changed.

It would be nice if you could change your username perhaps only once every tour without losing all of your stats.  This would mostly eliminate incidents like Montezuma described.

That only allows you to change the case of your handle.  If I felt inclined, I could change mine from Flossy to fLoSsY....
