np Lazs, It was a pleasure to get rid of those magazines.
One reason why we have plenty of old U.S cars here is that the tax when importing them is pretty low if car is over 25years old.
In mid/late eighties it looked that -59-60 Cadillac was the most usual U.S car here. Some of them were restored pretty nicely and when our currency went down some of them were sold back to the States with pretty good price.
I like american cars myself too, guess it started in mid seventies when my uncle bought a Ford Torino 2D HT with 428 Cobra Jet and Chevrolet Impala (454 IIRC).
After oil crise when the cost of fuel rose those cars were pretty cheap to buy in here.
"The women were good looking if a little pale."
- Yeah, wonder how pale would you been if we would drag your bellybutton from your sunny State to the land where 4-5 months of the year are dark, cold and rainy.
btw someone speculated that our climate is one reason why most cars are pretty well build. Most people don't drive their U.S cars in winters and in 4-5 months you have plenty of time to polish your bumbers in a garage with your friends sipping beer and talking dirty.
Merry Christmas to you all !
