Stuka Raid!!!
« on: December 18, 2002, 09:20:01 AM »
Last evening was squad night for the =Ghosts=. As I had previously mentioned, we intended to fly a squad-strength Stuka raid.

Escorted by four P-51Ds, we rolled in from 14,000 feet on a medium size field. One minute later, every hanger was a smoking ruin, including the VH.

Nothing can take down a field like 10 Stukas with 1800 kilo bombs.

Later, flying both Jabos and Stukas, we attacked a Knit Task Force. After the first pass, all that remained was two Destroyers. We lost two aircraft to ack.

With the addition of the Ju-87D and the 1800 kilo bomb, has forever changed the way bases are captured. Forget the mass Tiffy raids, a handful of Stukas will be enough.

My regards,

Widewing

if people took the time to properly setup there bombsights you would only need maybe 3-4 b17's (singles) to take out a base...although as soon as they realized you were coming youd probably have about 20 163's lauching

Our first Stuka mission on release day had 17 stuka's escorted by 4 Dora's (We did it the historical way, not the MA Quake way) ;) Results were similiar although the goon hunters from another field made it difficult to get our goon in.

Yawn....

13th TAS routinely shuts down and de-acks a small field with 4 ponies and no loss of life....oh, we do all the hangers in one pass:)

Unfamiliar with MA settings I see?   163's are avail at only one field each country.

Sounds like great fun (though yeah the p51's were overkill).

Theres 3 hangers and 4 ponies each with 2 1 ks bombs and rockets. You can put your ord into the fhs (3 guys) then strafe ack. Other guy gets vh.

We do similiar in our squad but with lw planes. One of the most excellent things about this release was the kg bomb fix. No longer does 500kg = 1000lbs.

Now the 110 g2 carries 2646 lbs of bombs as opposed to 2400

f8 has 1543 as opposed to 1400

ju88 with 4 x 500 now has 4409 instead of 4k add in 2204 with the 20 x 50kgs plus they added an attack option for the ju88  and its apparent some doesnt hate axis planes :)

add in the tiger, a stuka,  and another wonderwaffe plane (163) and one would expect a happy lw .............

This is Greatly Appreciated

Stukas vs Typhies??

Would still use the Typhies.

Typhies are faster.

Speed = life.

Besides...

Stukas are gay.

in fact; all LW planes are gay.

Kurt Tank is gay.

Bonehaids.
