Spiking Joystick
« on: December 19, 2002, 11:52:00 AM »
I know this is not a top line Joystick but it is new. 1 week old.

It's a thrustmaster top gun pro 2 shock. (not true FF but vibrating handle I turn it off)

It is spiking in the Y axes, so at level flight I suddenly go nose down in a death dive and can't pull up.

Any suggestions or do I return it and start over with new or different make of joystick or go back to mouse?

Thanks

My Thrustmaster pots didn't hold calibration long (recalibration every hour) but they lasted longer than that.

Since you're having trouble right out of the box, I recommend you exchange it or pick a different stick.

I don't think the perfect stick hasn't been built yet so I'm still looking.  I replaced my year old, 800 hour Thurstmaster with a Saitek which is much smother in the X and Y axis but there are issues here too.  Chapstick is required on the friction plate of the X45 to keep it operating smoothly.  Hat switches on both brands seem to go out first.
Easy in-game again.
