Ok ... how many of you like the current landing/ditching setup? I think it makes absolutely NO sense that you can land safely on a field, be out of fuel, and 10 feet from the runway, but it counts as a ditch? That is SO frustrating to make it all the way home on 1 1/2 wings and no fuel, and you come up 10 feet short, and its a ditch? Can this be fixed please!

What makes even worse sense is that you can land at an ENEMY field on runway, and it counts as a landing?

Would really appreciate input and accomodations please

I would also like to see repairs made in the hanger to a damaged plane. No fuel just repairs...it could even be time delayed of how much damage has to be repaired....Say if you get down with half a wing, the hanger delay would be 2 minutes in the hanger to get it repaired......don't get caught in a hanger if the hanger is about to be bombed!

So how close to a runway should you be allowed to land and still have it called a 'landing' and not a 'ditch'?

50 feet?
100 feet?
A mile and a half?

If HT allows 'landings' say, 100 feet off the runway there will ALWAYS be someone who says "I landed 110 feet off the runway and it counted as a ditch. That's lame!".

Runways are there for a purpose. Use them

The only thing that should be changed is you should not be able to land at an enemy field and have it count as a good landing. Once Nomde and I came upon 4 190s that were ravaging a friendly air field. They had knocked down the acks and a few hangars. We went low to deal with them but these score potatos quickly tried landing on our runways to exit. 2 of them made it. I won't name names though. <cough! eismeer cough!>

I like everything else the way it is. You gotta have your plane on a runway or taxiway or it is a ditch. Period.

Landing on an enemy field should count as captured!

Landing on your own field, off the runway. The limit for this should be the entire field, that means the entire "sand colored" field just before the grass begins again.

About repairing your plane, you realy think attaching a piece of wing would take 2 minutes?? A more realistic appraoch would be like at least 20 minutes. I will not wait for that, i'll take myself a new bird.

What i would like to see is that whenever i get a kill, i get my kill marked on my fuselage!

Five kills in a row, means five of those american stars on my 109! Yeah!

Inside the perimeter taxiway should be a landing period. Outside should be a ditch.

And yes please fix being able to land at an enemy field without being captured.

Also, on medium & large fields, any chance of getting a refuel station in the middle of the field instead of the end of the runway?

Nimitz that was one of my first squeakes when I got to this game and voiced it over this BBS. I think it is ridiculous as well. As I said before anywhere within the circle should be a landing. Can't find the post though but it had a perk modifier on it as well.

I agree Nimitz.

Many WW2 fighter airfields didnt even have concrete rwys. They simply took off from huge grass fields. Inside airfield borders it should be a successful landing.

Just so im sure I understand, You wan't to make landing easyer correct?
What it comes down to is you need to draw the line some where, landing is ment to require skill, if we would change it, you would loose a lot of the reward feeling you get when you manage to dead stick a plane on the runway. Basicly you just screwed up by 10 feet. As far as landing on enemy fields, I agree we should change that.

I think Ghosth's/Gatt's ideas are perfect. Why not allow anything inside the perimiter of the field count as a landing? That makes good sense to me, whattya think?

Nimitz, Ok here is how it should be broken down

Land on runway wheels down recieve full 1.25 perk point bonus

Land on runway wheels up recieve .75 perk point bonus

Land within perimiter of airfield wheels down recieve .50 of perk point value

Wheels up landing within perimeter of airfield recieve .25 perk point value.

How about this?
