The following procedure works successfully for carpet bombing.

Last night I forgot to open my bomb doors well in advance of the drop (Doors are opened well early of the drop for the express purpose of allowing the drag from the open doors to stablilize airspeed).
Since I forgot to do this and the drop was merely seconds away, I remembered that the B29 hydraulic bomb doors opened only long enough for the bombs to fall clear then close again.
As such, I waited until I was ready to drop, popped open the doors, salvoed all bombs then closed again. The stick of bombs layed right where I wanted them to.
