System specs are in my sig.

With this new video card I can run Aces High to the max.

Besides running that card at APG 8x

4x AA  and 16X AF are there any other video card settings I should be enabling to enhance Aces High?

I have a 17" monitor so I've been running the game at  1024x768
since that is the ideal res for this size monitor. (so I'm told)

Any benefit going to 1600x1200 on this monitor?
Any other settings you'd suggest I use?

Hi Sunking,

I think it just depends on what looks better to you. I have a 19' monitor, but I use the same rez that you do. I think the higher rez looks really good, but text and icons are a little too small for my liking. I also like my refresh rate at 100.

As for the 9700 pro card, I just cranked everything up for best quality, with vsinc on. I'm not currently running it overclocked, though it does crank up well. I'm going to d/l the Catalyst 3 drivers for it soon. You may want to get the tweak utility if you don't have it. There are many tweaks, and I don't know what half of them do. If you don't have it I'll give you the link when I get home.

I did take extra steps for cooling the card. My case has 4 fans sucking in, front and back, and a large blowhole out the top. One of the fans sucking in blows directly over the video card. I put solid copper heatsinks on the ram chips with artic silver adhesive, and they do help.

SunKing, play with the resolution all you want.  The card will not degrade in performance and actually runs better at higher resolutions.

I run the lowest setting for Anisotrophic in AH due to the text blurring when you crank it up.  I also run at 1600x1200, 32 bit color with full FSAA.  But I have a very high quality 19 inch monitor.

Being able to see the planes at better details when farther away means more to me than the smaller text.  Besides,..wait until you see the new cockpits at that resolution.

Just give it a try, if your monitor can handle it.
