Question for HTC on squelch feature
« on: December 22, 2002, 10:32:40 AM »
Several folks have requested a "permanent squelch list" in the form of a simple text file we can put in the HTC folder.

Something like squelch.txt using a format like 1 cpid per line:

moe
larry
curly
etc

This would be a simple text file we could edit by hand in notepad and wouldn't require any interface in the game itself. Don't know alot about programming so I'm not sure if this would require alot of programming or not.

I searched and could never find your comments on this or whether you thought you might be able to add this feature. Sorry in advance if this request/question has been answered elsewhere.

Channel 1 has gotten so bad I usually just squelch it shortly after arriving. Then you have to squelch a few guys within your country (usually the same ones). I as well as other enjoy some harmless banter on Ch. 1 and like to say to worthy opponents but have to squelch too many on it to make it worthwhile.

This is not a whine or gripe I'd just like to know if you are considering this or not. I think alot of people would love to see this implemented. It would be a great timesaver ingame and lower the daily hassle associated with loggin on.

Keep up the great work. Thanks for your time.

wouldn't use it myself, but I can see why some people would want it. and from what I know it would be very simple to add it. don't know how entangled AH code has become though, could be very difficult if not structured...

Not.

Cripes.  Even for HiTech this is short and rather needlessly mean.  "Not" what?

"Not" a problem.
"Not" something you think we would use.
"Not" easy to code.
"Not" worth your while.
"Not" a bad idea, perhaps in a future release.
"Not" a bad idea, but won't do it for some reason.
