Athlon or Conexant Prob w AH?
« on: December 22, 2002, 02:23:48 PM »
A squadie (T2MAW) had mentioned that after reviewing many sys specs he noticed many that used the Athlon processors experienced more probs than others with AH. Is there a connection to AH and it's lag and disco probs due to these processors?
More importantly, if so is there a fix?

I thought my prob was with my conexant modem. I am unable to play even Red Alert on the net w/o huge lags and then a disco from game and then an immediate boot off the net.
Does anyone else use this modem and if so have you experienced any probs with it or the processor?

Here my specs if anyone could give some advice.
Please ask if more info is needed.

Athlon or Conexant Prob w AH?

ZXMAW,

You got to be having problems other than with the Athlon - At least thats what I suspect as I can play perfectly OK from the UK with my Athlon 900MHz!. - I have been disco'd a few times but this is a rare and could be for any number of reasons. The main thing is I don't usually have any connection problems with AH.

cheers

ZX I have a US robotics 56k modem I aint using if ya need one. Its a extenal modem If I ever had to go back to dial up this is what I would use. Internal dial up modems SUCK.  With this any connect problems system hangs or you just need to get offline quick  just reach over and turn power off problem solved. If ya want it email me and Ill send it to ya.
