to add a little relavent information to this thread, a friend and I were rolling his 172 back into the hanger a year or so ago...and in order to get the nose wheel over the hanger door rails, we had to push it rather hard. In the process we were trying to manuver the tail back towards a pair of Beechcraft Barons.
Unfortunately the right elevator hit one of the Baron's props (AND THIS WAS BARELY MOVING!) and cracked the plastic corner/joint and bent the end of the right elevator before we could stop it (just a slight bounce really).
The panel had to be replaced. Granted a WWII fighter is *slightly* tougher, even small defencientcies in the aerodynamic surfaces can cause major problems.
But honesty, how do you hit a pole?

Our incendent was clearly that of lazy Baron pilots who didn't move their planes fully back into the hanger before latching the parking brake
