No Joy.....stick
« on: December 31, 2002, 03:19:44 PM »
I just go a new computer, GForce 4, Pentium 4 with 2.4 gigs. But when I got home, there was one flaw, no gameport for my joystick!!!!! I am trying to fly with my mouse, but I am in a plane, the mouse takes over the flight controls, but I can not move the mouse pointer if I need to press buttons on the clipboard while in flight. Is there a way to switch between mouse moving pointer and mouse steering plane?
Thanks.

I would recomend getting a USB joysick and use the joystick to fly!
The mouse is not very good for flying.

I don't know how to fly with just the mouse, but your new sweet rig has USB ports.

Go get a USB stick.  If you have an older gameport stick, find a USB-gameport adapter, like this one.

I have to use the mouse until I get a USB stick, or a port->usb converter sometime within the week.

I'm not positive about this but I vaguely remember a post saying if you hold the right mouse button down, you should be able to use the left button for appropriate mouse clickings.
Again, I'm not positive but worth a try.

Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

Only thing is if your using windows xp you will run into problems gameport type joysticks or ubs adapted gameport joysticks. I went tru that when I upgraded to XP.

click and hold the right mouse button down.  This enables you to move the pointer around.
