Tiger not so tough
« on: December 23, 2002, 03:11:04 PM »
After couple of hours in H2H, some things I noticed:

- Small bombs take out Tiger engine, sometimes tracks

- Tiger has tough time to survive a Ju88 attack,  salvo is deadly

- Aircraft fire generally ineffective, BUT Zero managed to take out my track (guns only)

Ok now the real story I found a tiger on the pizza map snuck up behind him fired 4 shots. 3 bounced off. His turret starts turning around. So I jump to drivers seat and start to circle around him staying out of the way of the turret. Id stop get off a shot or 2 then start moving again. He finally gets a shot on me boom in dead. Up another m8 go search him out same thing get some shots in he finally hits me boom start over. Ok after 3 runs he gets the idea that the turret cant turn fast nuf so now hes tracking me from the upper gun. So round and round we go untill he runs over one of them little white rocks that poke tru the sand. He goes boom I get the kill cause I had hit him this sortie I drive back to base park 5 perks. He sitting in tower cussing out the little white TIGER killing rocks. Now am I the only one who thinks a little white rock should NOT kill a tank or any gv for that matter.

I was swinging my gun around to kill the tiger but it was too fast.
Great slashing claws filled my view as the bugger leapt at me.Luckily as i stumbled back in a death grip with the huge feline, I managed to grab my holstered pistol, twist it, whilst it was still in the holster and shoot the beast twice in his chest.

I have no trouble with tigers.

i've killed tigers with bombs

but i've also stradled a tiger with 2 1000lbers. with no effect.
now if the concusion of 2k landing next to a tiger did'nt crush it then it would surely flip it over.
or at the very least turn the crew into strawberry jam.

Generally I stick with the Panzer IV for offensive purposes, it's quite useful now that HE shells can actually destroy structures.  I only use the Tiger on offense if I know I that the odds favor my survival.

anyway, about the tigers

I straffed one in a p47 in my arena the other day, i'd say about 95% of the bullets landed on target, and out of that, about 5 rounds penitrated, lol

Aww, well, last night I got encircled by several M3's whilst the nits were taking the base I was at, rather, I was at the city waiting on the little buggers.........
They took out both tracks, my Tiger is rocking back and forth like those "weebel" they used to advertise on TV when I was younger ("Weebels wobble but they don't fall down.....").  In the ensuing gunfight, my wiry opponents kept circling my stricken Tiger like Indians after a wagontrain.  I hopped up to the pintle gun and opened up on them, hit sprites everywhere, no kills, one wanders into my line of fire for the 88mm, 4 hits and he still lives so I get back on the pintle gun........
In the end, I died (duh!) but I took 14 of the bastages scalps with me before I did!

hmm, i thought the panzer and tiger's tracks were made of very hard steel which .50 cals couldn't damage?
