Oh man, am I gonna catch it for this.....

:D

OK but seriously, I know this is supposed to be a flight sim.  I know that the vehicles can be annoying sometimes.  I know that other players can be annoying....all the time. ;)   Especially the ones who keep shooting at me!  I know that the land-grab situation can really affect your fun, especially when done by a large, well organized group (such as the AK's last night).  But, the night before I was part of the other side of it as we rolled up several bases before my eyelids drooped.

For those who dislike this set up:

1.  land grabs allow you the opportunity to rack up easy C47 kills, and the more difficult but more fun Buff kills which otherwise would not be flown.

2.  furballs are fun, but even they can become annoying, old and boring.  (especially for me, the typical "victim")

3.  It is possible and even likely that the MA / CT set up is best viewed as "practice" for the fine scenarios that are available and these probably should be the main focus of this game.

4.  um....there is no 4 ( I just lost my train of thought, oh well)

Hehe, BTW, just kidding about the annoying players thing.  I find that I very rarely become annoyed with anyone in the game, though I do on occasion want to kick my own A**!!

The point of this is that I am wondering how others view this, how long they have been playing AH and why they like or dislike the "land grab" aspect of the game.  Maybe you could give us an alternative?  Furball arena?

OK, now I know I may get hammered on this one (just like in the game!  )  Been playing for about a year now, and I have my own periods of doom and gloom, where I dont want to play.  A couple of months ago I never logged a minute (isn't that good use of $14.95?) but I really think this game and community has to be an excellent example of what is possible.

I'm so tired of that statement. I personally find them boring. An admitted furballer qualifys the statement :D

Waiting 30 minutes or better to take off, to fly for forty five minutes for a couple of minutes of give and take that, if done correctly, causes little or no risk to yourself is well...bland. When I did fly them, I took them WAY to seriously to be considered "fun". But that's just me.

Give me a down on the deck CV fight with midwar planes with my hair on fire, now that's fun :D An off chance 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 and let her rip. It doesn't bother me to lose in those situations, it's the fight.

But I'm odd.

curly was leading you?..I thought he was way too busy shooting me down every 30-45 seconds

poopster, I understand what you are saying, I think that is also great fun, but I like the thought that the scenarios are there (even though I have only just now reached the point of being able to join in, due to timidity, inexperience and lack of squad affiliation).  CAP 8 was fun for me, but not an intense fight, except for a few seconds there where I was shot down.  CAP 9 was a drag due to connection problems.  I am looking forward to joining my new squadmates in the TOD and have signed up for Niemen.  Really, I can see that scenarios are not for everyone.  But, what of the base capture / land grab aspect of the MA and CT?  Do you think it creates more or less of an opportuniy for a fight?  Me, I am still undecided on it.
