This doesn't nessesary have to work for all of you, but it works well for us
As far as i'm conserned, the group i fly with "Northolt Wing" is not bonded together by the fact that we happend to hit the "fly" button at the same location and at the same time.
We're together because we're friends and we enjoy each other's virutual company.
This means that just because you choose to fly X sim and your buddy goes to Y sim - you don't nessesary have to quit being friends.
Squadron CO with half a brain should recodnise the potential and possible attractivness of a new sims to his current players - and provide a frame work to accomodate them in that simulation.
For ourselves - 303 was started in Warbirds.
Some wanted to fly in Aces High so we created a 308 sqaudron adn remaned the overall unit to Northolt Wing ( so that we're not too constrained by structure without giving up historical aspect we care about )
Our WB players come to fly in AH sometimes, our AH players come to fly in WB. We have some people who have accounts in both and we still have some people who haven't flown either in months. The "my sim is better then yours" competitions don't get in the way of our friendship.
In the near future 303IAR squadron will become the part of the Northolt Wing to repesent us in Target Korea, and 315 (Fighter) and 301(Bomber) squadrons will be created in WWIIOL. All of those will be staffed by current members of Northolt Wing as well as any other recruits who are willing to join our circle.
Voula - you have a squadron without borders
