Pongo, Moose, have modeling question
« on: December 24, 2002, 07:28:38 PM »
Hi fellas.  I am looking for a paint color or combo of colors (acrylic if possible) to paint the wheel wells of a 1/48 Tamiya J2M3.  The historic color was a translucent blueish green and I am stumped on how to recreate that.  Any ideas from you guys?

For the special japanese blue green I use Tamiya X-13 Metalic Blue.. I ususally cut it with some rlm green to tone it down and green it a bit. .Those interior colours on Japanes AC really varied from factory to factory...

You are talking about "aotake", this was a clear green/blue preservative coat. Use the tamiya color or an even better one is made by Gunze Sangyo, dont know the number though.
