NMY Tanks damaged then Exiting

again i totally agree.

I shot a tiger and a panzer the other day and both were disabled.

they had both killed me 2 or more times as i attacked and each time i reupped and tried a new approach.Eventually i managed to hit the tiger and disable it.I was overjoyed because he had hit and killed me so many times but he exited and i got nothing.
Again i managed to hit a panzer 3 times which was smoking and listing heavily to one side with tracks destroyed.i fired again only to see him dissapear. No kill.

Even worse at a19 on the isles map a tiger had made his way onto the base and was sitting by our VH camping on all GVs that upped.I took off in a ju87 along with many other players and we bombed the hell out of it.Eventually it was damaged but no matter how much ordinance we dropped on it it wouldnt blow up.
We kept on attacking but it just sat there firing the odd mg from the cowling gun.
I guess he ran out of ammo because he exited and no one even got an assist!. whats worse is he got all the kills and a landed successfully even though he was a total wreck. He wasnt even at a friendly base!! just because he was near the VH he escaped without even a ditch.Surely this isnt right?

I guess I just don't drive GVs much - I didn't know that supplies would fix a damaged GV - thought they just gave you more ammo!  I'll have to try that now...

Well, I was actually exagerrating for effect on my original post.  I usually do stick it out until I'm out of ammo with the pintle or hull guns, if people are still trying to strafe me.  But if I'm at such an angle that I can't get shots, and people flying around are leaving me alone I will often ditch.

The game treats GV exatly like planes, if you ditch in friendly territory you are safe no matter how bad you are shot up. If you ditch in enemy territory, except landing areas, you will be counted as a kill even if one bullet hit you.

This is also why tanks and GV blow up when they hit anything, the game sees them as planes.
