DX Buster/Remover (works great with DX9)
« on: December 27, 2002, 08:04:18 AM »
Hiya's,
Found a DX remover that works fine with DX9

Goto link and d/load it http://pcmedicdirect.com/downloads/Win%209x/Direct%20X/DX%20Buster/dxb133e.exe

It will install into prog files
Run it and you will see 3 tabs with step options 1/2/3
Goto 3rd tab and click start
It will ask ok to proceed etc
After that it will ask for a reboot
When back in windose install DX version you want
DX will ask to reboot

Job Done

Works with 9x and 2000 i believe
My OS is now 98SE and i removed DX9 back to DX8.1 easy as pie

Hope this helps anyone who is getting slight freezing after upgrading to DX9

Thank You!

Tried DX9 & worked fine in AH. However,
slowed Crimson Skies down to a crawl,
and Star Fleet Academy took a hit also.

Yeah Yeah I know they are old, funky, and the FM is toast. But I have a friend who likes to play thats not up to AH standards. Not yet anyway.  :)

wow, simple, easy, effective, took me 3 min to get 8.1, ran it, restarted, ran dx8, restarted, back here saying thank you once again.

Love it when something is exactly as it was represented.

Thanks again

So I guess there is no need to update to DX9 then:D   I'll stay at DX 8.1 and Nvidia drivers 12.90 (since all newer driver perform better but ruin my stability of my lowlife GF2 Pro card)

LOL JJ,
Because i am such a nice guy :p and i knew i was about to do a format i installed DX9 knowing a had a Util i had used before for removing other DX's  ;)

I merely did DX9 to test ya see :D

And having found DX9 to be causing some guys a slight glitching prob i endeavoured to be a guinea pig ya see  lol

Unlike some older DX Busters the Util i used not only removes (any dx so far i've tested) it allows a quick new install . eg a certain dx buster does just that, It removes any DX but in doing so it sends all ya Windose right back to very first known specs eg. right back to a basic Windose setup with no added vid/sound/nic card based (just virgin looking omg) comprende ?

So if anyone has used other DX Busters and been sent back to basic/virgin install looking Windose then this Util is a must if ya gonna dabble with DX's

Hope this makes sense as i still feeling a l'il "Fragile"  he he
