ME262 Project movie
« on: December 29, 2002, 09:31:06 PM »
To those who helped out today in the Buff formations I appreciate it very much.

Jim Bryon of the ME262 Project (http://www.stormbirds.com) will receive the film tomorrow as we tour the facility.  Hopefully he has a computer to run it on. :)

I chose to run the film at the higest res avaiable to me, 640 X 30 FPS. With the Titles, music and footage, a 6 min. film turned out to be 207 megabytes:eek:

The film is pretty basic, beginning with a take off while transitioning music to Pink Floyd's "Learning to Fly" comes on, then some barnstorming thru a hangar, shooting down a couple P51 drones (all icons off) then landing during the "Control Tower" portion of "Learning to fly" which came out right on que.  The last two minutes are footage of 2 X ME262 burning thru 15 buffs flying tight formations (Thks for purposely not being too accurate on the return gunfire those who helped! :) ) with guns ablazing.  A couple of scenes are repeated from the Buff drivers perspective. :)The final scene is the 262 flying over snow covered peaks while turning slowly into a rising sun.  Multiple viewpoints from external to internal view were used although the transitioning/panning tool in the AH film viewer have a lot to desire ;)

The whole film took about 20 AH films reduced to 10 AVI files which were then editted.

I have it burned the film on a CD-- if you have space to upload it anywhere, let me know and I'll burn you a CD. If I don't get too many requests, I'll mail out a couple to folks that would like a copy.

Brian,

We did enjoy the CD s but, our pilot claims he would "never flythru an open hangar"...well maybe if no one was watching.

Thanks!

Glad you had a good tour with Maureen...keep checking on our
progress...we hope to fly later this month again.
