No, I'm not going to flame somebody for bailing.

Quite the contrary.  I intentionally stay in the cockpit of my....fuselage that used to resemble an airplane so as to give my killer the joy of watching an actual auger.

Its a goofy sort of protest on my part for HTC to hopefully add in dead planes to AH someday.  Planes don't disintergrate.  Nothing really does.  A 2,000 pound aircraft is just seperated into several chunks, but the some of the total is still 2,000 pounds.

Wouldn't you like to see planes cartwheel to their doom?

P.S.  There is also the slim chance that the other guy may buy it in a pilot kill or explosion before you hit terra firma.  Your plane may be a funky helicopter, but you will still get the credit or at least the assist.

Actually, when I blow an enemy's wing or tail off I hope he bails because if he doesn't there is a very good chance a friendly will "help" me and take the kill.

I bail to give the guy who earned it the kill, not some wreck chaser.

If it's a niki pilot I prefer they bail (they seldom do) It gives me a very good oportunity to kill his chute too

AH is still missing one of the classic  audio/visual experiences of WWII aerial combat.......

The disabled pilot, screaming down in a spiral dive, engine pitch rising, rising, rising BOOM!

You see it in every black and white film shot from the cliffs of Dover, and we should be seeing it here too.

At the moment, AH simultes a pilot kill with an explosion. It's a nice graphic image, and one that we should keep.

But we could add one. As the pilot's killed, the icon goes out, and the plane spirals down....

If it will bolster your courage to the do right thing and remain in your plane, I have actually given kill credit by chasing down a burning wreck waiting for the pilot to bail.  Only to hit the ground before he does.

Hmmm....  I tend to do that, usually still in one of the gun positions on my bomber, hoping for a lucky parting shot - or that the person who had the audacity to shoot at me could die first....

Yeah, I don't fault anyone for bailing.  If it weren't for chutes, I wouldn't get any kills.
