Be a man....ride it down in flames!

Hmm on second thought:

Quote
Feliks Szyszka was shot down over Warsaw on the
first day of the war, and as he hung on his parachute,
his face and body badly burned, a German fighter
flew back and forth shooting at him.  He had seventeen
bullet wounds on his legs alone when he landed, and
spent four months in the hospital....In Britain he joined
one of the Polish fighter squadrons, and in 1941, over
France, bagged his first Messerschmitt.  The German
baled out, and Szyszka found himself tearing down on
the parachuting pilot.  'I really don't know what was
happening with me, but my finger was poised on the
machine-gun button,' he recalls.  'I only needed to
press it.  But I had to see his face.  So I bore down on
him and held my fire.  The German grew in my sights,
twisting on the cords and waving his arms fanatically.
In the end I saw his face clearly.  It was terrible, but
different, oh how different, from the face I had seen
over Warsaw.  It was crazed with fear.  The German
dropped his arms and hung there like a rag doll.  But
I could not shoot.  I just couldn't.  I banked my Spitfire
and passed a few meters from his face.  For awhile I
watched as the parachute drifted groundwards.  Then
I rejoined the squadron, and when I landed - I
     suddenly felt deep happiness.'

I'm always one for putting on a good show.  If my opponent bails out, I usually like to do some tricks for him.  Sometimes I will fly right by him with gear down, flaps outs, and doing about 85knts.  Other times I will fly inverted right at him and dive away at the last second.  However, my favorite maneuver to perform on an enemy chute is to fly right at them with 70 inches of manifold pressure and firing 900 rounds a minute out of each of my .50 cal machine guns until he is dead haha.

PS- Anyone remember when they took away the .45 cal pistol from WB when chutes started occasionaly getting pilot kills on the planes that shot them down?

Have to agree with Wilbuz here - NIKI pilots pushed the wrong button while in the hangar, I'll push the right button while their chute is in my sights...

I stopped bailing the same day I started shooting chutes.

An interesting side note on chute whines... knocked down a 109 in the CA the other night, the guy bails. I whipped around; did a perfect line up on the chute and was boring in... but as always, it's best to look behind you before yah shoot whats in front of yah.

Intrestingly enuff, there's a spit there, also lining up the same chute.  I kicked the rudder a bit ( I dunno why..FDB instincts I guess) and sure enuff the spittys rounds hit my Corsair. The killshooter gives the chutist the kill.

Now the 109 driver, still doing his nylon letdown starts raggin the nancy boy spit driver on ch 1 fer bein a total dweeb; missing the cute and killin himself.. and THEN I pumped 50 rounds inta him.

Timing is Everything. "..how sweet it is. "  :D
